Talk about milking the cow.
$59.99(€59.99) for the fucking standard edition? FAIL.

More and more common though. It must be due to all the extra quality assurance that goes into games nowadays.
Wait a minute...
...i honestly couldn't care less. Starcraft kinda reminds me Duke Nukem... that awesome memory that doesn't exactly stand the test of time, and comes off as a relic of a diferent cultural time. Duke Nukem at least. Starcraft II sounds alike, but covered in a new coat of hype, er.... graphical engine goodness. I could pick it up....retail....when it goes very, very low on price. Nothing less....

Thankfully only common to Activision and Ubisoft at the moment. EA have still frozen their prices at $49.99 as have others like THQ. The $10 price rise is pure price gouging.

And sadly that move alone probably just sold 10,000's of extra collectors editions to hard core wow fans that may not even care about starcraft.
I -really- want the art book.
I -really- want the soundtrack.
I -really- want the game.
I really -don't- want to pay $100.
I don't care about the dog tag.
I don't care about the WoW pet.
No LAN, no buy
Way to go Activision Blizzard. I "love" what you are doing to my favourite developers. :(
I will get the game eventually, probably even the Collector's Edition, when it goes down in $ a little.
Nice content. However it didn't persuade me to buy it ASAP instead of waiting for the SC2 complete edition.
I do want the CE, however, it's not worth the 999 SEK I'd have to pay (103 Euro, 138 USD - according to Google at the moment).
I'll probably wait until the standard edition goes down to 25€ or thereabouts.

Actually both Diablo II and Warcraft III were $60 at launch.
However I'm still skeptical about the amount of content we'll actually be getting for that $60 since they decided to split the game up.

It is available for preorder at sendit.com for 35 euros. Though we'll have to wait few days to see if they change the price.

Going by what they've said (I believe it was at BlizzCon last year), each campaign will be as long as the whole previous game, this first release being the Terran campaign as well as multiplayer for all races. Of course, that was quite a while ago and stuff have doubtlessly changed since then, but at least it's a guideline of what to expect.
