Great game, but not the kind I'd like to see at GOG's though. I think they are losing focus. The "retro" gameplay is a weak argument, the latest GTA also has "retro" gameplay, so does any present time FPS, or even cRPGs, cause the gameplay is the same 20 years ago.... but nicer graphics....
I´d rather wait for a "gold" release at the same price but including the expansion "Armored Princess".
By the way it works great on an Athlon XP 3200+, Radeon X1950PRO, 2GB Ram rig.
Regards.
So is this now the newest game on GOG now? Good thing it's actually pretty good.
Also, now there are more front page bewbies!
Actually, now I am hoping that we are going to see other 1C releases soon on GoG.
Hint: Fantasy Wars and Elven Legacy ;-)

acare84: My Steam version is not working well on Windows 7 64 Bit I hope this version is working good on Windows 7 64 Bit. Maybe I will buy it again from here.

Are you using an NVIDIA card? I had problems too on Windows 7 x64 when I was still using a GTS 250, I think it was the new forceware drivers that's causing the random CTD's. Don't know if they have fixed it already on the latest driver release. You can try using older nvidia drivers if you experience CTD frequently preferrably the 18x.xx series.
As for the gameplay, i definitely enjoyed playing it... Though I haven't finished it yet. Difficulty ramps up quickly and quite frustrating during the early levels.
nice release :)
Whoa. You guys and girls are awesome. I was hoping to see this game here someday, but I never expected it so soon.
This game is addictive and an absolute blast. It does get a bit repetitive, though, and is fairly lengthy, so it might be a title that's better to play casually over time until you finish it, rather than in one long marathon.
For those wondering, the game bears some similarities to Heroes of Might & Magic, but it's not a strategy game. The tactical "army" combat is similar (better in my opinion), but the game focuses on one hero as you explore the world, fight monsters, level up, and dig treasure out of dungeons. Character advancement is driven by stats, equipment (which mostly boosts your stats), and skill trees.

Catshade: We'd still get a new release tomorrow, right?

Tomorrow is a national holiday in Poland and a day off.
Great game at a great price, although it isn't really that "old". ;)

But the company is registered on Cyprus, isn't it? :-)

Yes, I have a nVidia 9800 GTX+ with newest Forceware drivers and as you said game is crashing and I have slowdowns, freezing sometimes etc...
Heh, didn't see this one coming. I've already got this and the expansion on Gamersgate from awhile back, though I've not gotten around to playing them yet. I kinda like this trend of "newly classic" style---one would hope to see more Indie games on here in this regard as well.
What's next GoG....getting some Czech-English folk to help translate and release the
"classic" style Inquisitor on here? ;)
GOG shall be forgiven on this since the original was released around 1991.
Hehe, there was a King's Bounty in the early 90s.
I actually looked for the boxed game (The Legend) for months last year and finally found it. Wasn't disappointed, it was an excellent game(maybe weak on the story side but excellent nonetheless). Glad to see it on GoG. Won't get it now since my boxed set is still new, but will do so next time.
Wonder if Armoured Princess will make it to GoG eventually too, coz the boxed set of AP has a internet activated DRM.
Gr8 game. I just stared playing it week ago, I have steam version with expansion from sale and game is absolutely addictive and awasome. It hav everything what is best from heroes V and tons of new feautures.
Brilliant release and a very good game.
Edit: Good to see more from 1C publishing. Hopefully we will see NecroVisioN, Death to Spies and Cryostasis at some point.
