Not in, just saying thanks for another wonderful giveaway! Also, I'll try to update this space with answers to the discussions questions later today. First, coffee. Otherwise, I'll make no damn sense.
Okay, I still may make no damn sense, but I'll feel better about doing so. ;)
Thanks and +1 for the giveaway!
I'm in for the $5.99 and I'll nominate BillyMaysFan59 for the other one. Thanks for the giveaway!

My three favourite genres, in order, are:

RPG: Love em. Odd's are good, if I'm playing a game, it is some sort of RPG. I generally prefer group based RPG like the infinity engine games or Original Sin, but I don't mind a good single character game every now and again.

Strategy: I'm not even going to try and pick between turn based or real time. I like em both. I would also include the 4X games here too.

Hockey: I can't even really say sports here, because the only sports game I ever buy is Hockey. I hate supporting EA for my NHL fix, but I just can't help myself. I'm not an every year buyer, but I always wind up finding some player or some team change that justifies updating my version of NHL every few years. I did take a brief foray into 2K land for my hockey, but I prefer EA's take on things. My four year old calls our 360 the hockey machine, because that's pretty much the only game he ever sees on it.

In RPG's I often play as a women. I don't really know why. I think it is the fact that I'm a dude in a real life, and it's kind of fun to role play as a chick.

Enebias: Since in the other thread there was a discussion about anime, I thought to share this masterpiece about REAL manhood!
I found it by chance yesterday and I immediatly thought about this thread!
Let me *BUMP* it with some among the silliest 20 minutes in the history of animation...

By the way: I am not in (and when ddickisnon will read this, I will be probably doomed)!
Lucky for you there is still time to change your mind. As you know, I'm in London at the moment, so I can quite easily get to an airport and get a flight to Italy and "persuade" you to change your mind.

To encourage you to change it sooner rather than later, here is a rough idea of how events could unveil:

* Stands here in shock at the audacity of Enebia's "Not In" stance *

* Prices up tickets to Milan - £198 round trip, with time to enjoy the sights as well (image 1) *

* Calls a certain Swiss mercenary to meet me in Milan and help me hunt Enebias down *

* Tracks Enebias down to a nearby location, an Italian plumbers store with strange mushrooms growing everywhere, and a sign saying "Mario Brothers Plumbers" *

* Kicks down the door and finds Enebias cowering in the corner, desperately covering his nuts *

* But to no avail, my retribution was swift and painful! (keeping the anime theme, image 2) *

* Walks over to Enebias's computer, loads the GOG forum, and edits his post to "I'm In" *

* Calls the Swiss government to inform them about the AWOL mercenary's location *
(So that I don't have to pay his extortionate fee for tracking down Enebias, sorry awalterj ;-). So in fact, Enebias, your reluctance to enter could get two people in trouble, you wouldn't want to do that to poor awalterj now would you?)

* Walks away doing my best evil Mwahahahaahhaha laugh and sets off to enjoy the sights of Italy before my flight back to London. *

(several lines of PURE EVIL)
Soooo... I guess an unconditional surrender is in order.

Since you *gulp* so gently insist, I will be glad to enter for the 5,99 game! It's fine, yes? *shivers*

To choose my nominee I had to decide between exactly six users, so I opted for a regular die throw to select one.
Alea iacta est! The result is in favour of... Tekkaman-James!

Now, to make amends for my audacity I will offer you a cup of every true man's favourite beverage... tea.

OSU!!! Certainly you meant to say "among the manliest 20 minutes in the history of animation".

Sakigake!! Otokojuku is definitely an anime that celebrates what it means to be a true man. It is among what those in the community would refer to as MANime! What are some other manly anime that you gents enjoy?

Here are my Top 3:

Space Adventure Cobra - A smooth-talking, space pirate with a cigar in his mouth and a laser cannon in his left arm. This show has pretty ladies, dastardly villains, high stakes and just the right amount of cyberpunk thrown in for flavor. Cobra is the man that every guy wants to be and every girl wants to be with.

Berserk - I definitely prefer the MANga to the MANime, but either one will suffice. Very violent, but with a heart of gold, Guts is a guy that never takes "No" for an answer. He is loyal, confident and incredibly strong. A lot of hardship comes this man's way, but like any man worth his salt, he perseveres.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - A story that spans generations. From Jonathan Joestar to Josuke Higashikata, this is a series of the most insane manliness around. The protagonists in this series face numerous seemingly insurmountable odds, but they always find a way to overcome hardship. And, when a comrade falls along the way, they always get revenge.

No matter what happens, men, remember the cardinal rule: It's okay to cry as long as you NEVER close your eyes.

What do you mean pure evil? I thought I was being very reasonable ;-).

I knew you would see things my way, you just needed a bit of gentle persuasion. Yet another member of the Axis of Evil Gift Resistance defeated!

Your tea and anime posts more than make up for your.... temporary lapse of judgement :-).
Speaking as playing as a female character: I can't wait to get home and play dreamfall chapters...
Ok, why not... In for the 9.99$ game.

1) Favorite video game genres :

-TBS(especially of the 4X variety), because I like a proper intellectual challenge, and because I feel like a god when I devastate entire planets with nukes, and exterminate entire civilizations just because I don't like them :D My favorite titles include Master of Orion 2, Heroes of Might and Magic 3, Disciples 2, Battle for Wesnoth and the Total War series.

-Survival Horror - The atmosphere mainly, although the jump-scares are fun too . Favorite titles are Dead Space1&2, Lone Survivor and Silent Hill 2 .

-FPS - Self-explanatory, I like shooting stuff :D Favorites include Painkiller, Blood, Serious Sam series and the Unreal series.

2) Hidden object, Tower-defense and adventure, the latter 2 having some titles I like, but few .

3) I don't usually play women in games, but when I do, I only do it if I can have an avatar with huge tits, the only exception being Sacrifice, where I play Shakti a lot in the custom games(tho I'm not sure if that counts as female, as she's not technically human) . Of the games where there is a set female char, Bloodrayne 1&2 are my favorites .

Also, as proof that I am a guy, here's a picture of my giant cock :

Sachys: I'm a male lesbian
I can identify with that.

toxicTom: One nice turning of the tables. Well played, sir ;-) And not less invalid than my musings.

That's why I mentioned "kitchen psychology" and "jumping to conclusions" in my original post.
Yeah, and I don't think my view is necessarily true, it was more to show that there are other ways to view this.

Another explanation is that playing a woman has things which appeal to men, while playing a man has fewer things which appeal to women. Looking at the woman is one thing, as has been mentioned. It's possible that women don't get the same pleasure looking at a man in a game. But also, for example, we are more accustomed to dress up female figures (be them women, little girls or dolls), with males getting a lot fewer dress options. So someone who wants to play with a character creator or in-game costumes, regardless of that player's sex, may be drawn to playing a female character.
Thanks ddickinson for the awesome GA!

I play any character who I feel is more connected to me, and for some odd reason, its mostly a woman when I have a choice. I really don't know why, but I think it has something to do with my interest in the game's story, which is almost always presented better through female characters.

My 3 favorite genres are

RTS: the first real game I played was a an RTS, and I now feel a very strong connection with the genre. I always think about these games the most, and I often spend school-time thinking what I'd try out in an RTS when I get home. And almost all RTSs have a complete and utter kickass soundtrack, which makes me feel like its a cut above every other game(s). I also like TBS, but not as much as RTS for its requirement in planning and strategy.

Stealth (obviously) : have had a very keen interest in sneaking up on people/ things (but mostly birds to photograph) since I was really young. And the fact that I can choose NOT to kill is really exciting, since every encounter is more like a puzzle to hone your skills rather than a combat op.

FPS/Survival : I really like the concept of being a character in a world and thinking on your feet to solve problems. This is actually quite wide a genre, but I can't choose between them. FPSs as long as its NOT LINEAR.

I'm a guy as well, and I'm in for myself and hummer010 for the $5.99 prize.

I think its has something to do with your nationality ''wink'' ''wink'' Anyway, its a veeeeery lesser known fact that the national sport of India is hockey, but is not ahead in the sport at all. I actually thought it was cricket till I was around 10 or smth lol. Cricket crazy and still ignores hockey even though its the national sport. Obviously.
Now that KOTOR is out, I think I'll change mine to "in!" for the 9.99 game. Especially with all that talk of violence for not being in.

I was just reading an article about a video of a woman in NYC who was sexually verbally ickified just a bajillion times in 5 hours (I think it was literally over [strike]1000[/strike] 100 times).

I think it's harder to be a lady than a lot of guys give them credit for. And perhaps it's up to the decent men to beat the tar out of the men who berate women.

I also, after having played TIE Fighter last night, want to say that I enjoy space combat sims. Many are quite good, but I've really been into them lately (playing Wing Commander 4 right now too).

Besides that, RPG, TBS, RTS, or whatever. I even like FPS and occasionally will help the wife out with a hidden object game. I like to play a little of everything and feel out someone's art and creativity. To me, the biggest thrill of playing a game is getting a chance to experience something that was going on in someone else's head.

To be accurate, she walked around New York City for 10 hours and was heckled 108 times. Still very disheartening, to be sure, but much less than 1,000. :P

EDIT: Adding a link to an article about the topic.

Thanks for the article! I'll edit my post above with the added 0. It's just atrocious, isn't it?

My sisters were walking down a street once and a cabbie slammed on his brakes, stuck his torso out of the car and whistled loudly. Very dangerous. And wildly ridiculous.

P.S. I just saw this quote from the bottom of the article:
'I have a boyfriend' is the easiest way to get a man to leave you alone. Because he respects another man more than you. #yesallwomen"

Too true for soooo many men. What's the deal with that?
