tinyE: While I'd like to blame the U.S. for our ignorant refusal to embrace the metric system I think some responsibility lies with everyone else in not recognizing that we will forever ignorantly refuse to embrace the metric system. :P
Disturbingly enough this may be both the most hilarious and sophisticated post I've read on the GOG forums yet.

mystikmind2000: Aliens would be pretty smart not to contact us so they can continue getting all the free movies, music and games they want without any issue regarding copyright!
Hush! You don't want the collecting societies to find out that aliens are watching blockbusters for free and start a war of the worlds over this, do you?

The UFO craze has ended.
Perhaps the recent rash of Fiery Rocks Falling From Sky, have captured the imaginations of the fanciful?

Or perhaps, a rise in Psychonautic experiences among humans, has made the use of alien flying objects obsolete?

Or, cash-strapped nations abandon secretive, hi-tech aviation projects.

lukaszthegreat: I miss 90s Star Treks, Babylon 5, farscape, stargates, Rosewell (okay. haven't seen that one at all. but I heard it was good), xfiles...

good times. We have DW now so it's worth at least two series we lost but we are certainly missing aliens and or space exploration on our TVs.
I heard BSG was good but after 2 seasons I had to drop it. too much angst and whiny and dickheads while not enough fun characters who I don't want to die every episode. Seriously: i was hopping Cylons would just kill them all and have fun adventures exploring the galaxy.
You, sir, deserve a cookie

I miss that type of sci-fi. I always long for more. The only dose I can get is re-watching my favorites (which is every single Star Trek TV series, the Stargates, The X-Files, Farscape, Babylon 5, and others).

Some folks say these types of shows just don't have enough viewers..I say BULL KAKA

At least there's Doctor Who :)

Nah, it will never end. For someone to think we are alone in this motherload of space is just silly :P

Oh well, even with their advanced technology the Aliens could never win because there is no greater and more relentless force in the Universe than Copyright!

tinyE: Always a fan of this guy.
This whole thread and not one mention of War of the Worlds, especially the infamous radio broadcast by Orson Welles:

If it helps, I played through the UFO series on GOG earlier this year, and really adored it.

lol!
I still want to believe.
Truth be told, I never did stop watching the skies. For me, it will never end. I've seen to much proof that we are not alone. If I ever want to see them, there's a place down south I go to. Down there, if you look at the skies, you can see them in the distance. It's a little place almost 60 miles from where I live. I live in Deridder LA and the place I'm talking about is Iowa, right outside of Lake Charles.

In Iowa in Hecker Settlement, in my Families Yard down there, at night, if you look at the skies, you can see what appears to be shooting stars. The thing is, they're not stars. These stars look like meteorites moving, except they change direction. Then, suddenly, they take off like a shooting star and disappear. They move slowly at first, then speed up, then vanish. I've watched them since 05. They're always there. My Family down there along with others have even found pieces of little metal in their bodies over the years that doctors have removed. Their magnetic and they have no ideal what they are. They even got nose bleeds out of the blue at night with little pieces metal coming out of their nose over the years as well.

They don't talk about it much except in hushed voices to other family members like me because they don't want people to think they are crazy. You've heard stories like this over the years and people automatically label them as crazy because they don't want to believe. To me, it is very real. I've seen the proof over the years.

One day when my Uncle and me were coming back from down there on their roads, we saw something in-front of us hovering above the road about 20 feet. It was round and glowing. It was white and it was not from this world. We knew this. It's hard to describe what we saw that year back in 2012 that fateful night, but it made our hair stand on end and scared the living shit out of us. We still remember it to this day.

This is the first time I had ever talked about this or came public with it. I've been afraid for years that people would think we're crazy. We know what we saw. The UFO craze hasn't died, more like people like us are afraid to talk about it because people will think we're crazy and belong in a loony bin. That's why people haven't come forward with their stories.

I saw this thread and said to myself, "This is you chance to come forward at long last. Do it and never look back." So I did at long last. Who would have though that on a Gaming Forum I would come out with what has plagued my family for years. I don't talk about this lightly either. This is something that has plagued me and my family for years and made us wonder why we were chosen. Ever person that has come in contact with UFO's wonders the same thing to. Why me? Why us? What makes us special?

So all I can tell you all is keep looking to the skies and don't believe your Governments and their Cover Up Stories. We know what we saw. It changed us forever. If it ever happens to you, it will change you forever. Keep believing and never look back. *hugs to you all*
