CDP Days 2011 Spring Conference has just finished and everything is clear now. If you haven't been able to tune in to watch the live stream, don't worry. We've prepared a quick summary of our presentation with a video recap for your convenience. So, let's not wait any longer.

At the very beginning we had to brag a bit about how awesome the service is doing, of course thanks to you - our great users. And then, suddenly, the lights went off, creepy moans started letting out from all over the place while The EnigmaticT tried to discern something in the dark with his flashlight.

Worry not, it was the announcement of Alone in the Dark, that comes with Alone in the Dark 2 and Alone in the Dark 3 as free bonus materials! This great series starts a new wave of Atari games that will be available in the coming weeks! And on 10th of May as the last game from Atari, we'll release The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut. What's even cooler we're going to have a special, time-limited offer that will give you a 50% discount, so the game will cost you only $4.99!

As we're on the subject of The Witcher, we had more cool stuff about its upcoming sequel on GOG.com. Starting on May 10, everyone who pre-order The Witcher 2 on GOG.com will be able to pre-purchase the game and download 90% of the build, so they can play the game on release day! So if you haven't pre-ordered the game yet, you'd better do that before May 16! More details on The Witcher deals can be found here.

Pre-downloading such huge game like The Witcher 2 is some serious business, and you'd need some serious downloader to do that. That's where the GOG.com Spring Site Update comes in! Late April we'll introduce a brand new, improved and slick GOG Downloader which will allow you to download all your GOG games fast and easy. What else? Personal messaging will be now possible for all our users!

But that's not all! At the very end, spotlight was on your favourite French Monk, who had some news regarding new publishers coming to the site. Microsoft, Electronic Arts, LucasArts, Take2 and SquareEnix - one of those publishers is already signed, while two more from the list are almost on board! Which and when is coming? Well, you'll have to wait a bit for that :)

You can watch the video recap of the presentation here. Enjoy!

kaywinkler: But wouldn't y'all Yanks and Chaps agree with me (Kraut, if you wish) - that the main force behind the defeat of the Axis has been actually Russia? I may be wrong but statistics could even indicate that they paid also the highest price in terms of casualties in that relation.
Yes, if we could determine one factor as the most pivotal one in the entire war, it was the fact that Hitler made the same mistake Napolean did: he invaded Russia in winter. Without the Russians the Western Front would have faced an enemy MORE THAN twice as powerful as they did due to the fact that the Nazis had more forces fighting on the Eastern Front than the Western Front.

But agree with your last bit too, lets get back to the games! :D

serpantino: Uh it was working fine for thousands of years before your country cocked with it =P. Then this is the same country that struggles to spell a lot of words properly and so dumbs them down by dropping vowels (e.g colour). In fact I'm surprised country hasn't been changed to contry yet or cuntry :P *titters childishly*. You might think those letters are waste material but they do actually indicate a different pronounciation. Still English is a language bastardized from half a dozen other languages which is why it's one of the hardest to learn for foreigners.
I like writing 'colour'... generally if I'm actively thinking about it, I try to write using the British spelling. Although, I have to say, 'titter' makes me, well, titter.

Edit: yes, back the games!

In the begginning there was war amongst all nations and peoples, creeds and races, then there were computer games. For a time there was still war and strife, then, quite suddenly, a new company sprung up, and unbeknownst to all, started a revolution of gaming love. That company, GOG, brought all of us together to bask in its awesome gaming glory. For it was with the classic games that the peoples of the earth came together, putting aside their hate and spittle, and realizing, that in the end, all that ever really mattered were two words: Game...... On......
Thus I say to you all, let there be peace among us, so that we may play games together, so that our child and our grandchildren may play games together...and by so doing the world will truly feel the thunder of our mighty keystrokes, our swift mouse clicks, the one universal language that connects us all men and women, young and old. Peace my Freinds, Peace and Game ON!
Hopefully it's a proper native downloader instead of another Adobe Air...
I will forgive FFXIII if Squenix will only release the PC Ports of FFVII and VIII to GoG. I like applying patches as much as the next person but I need these games for Win7!

It doesn't use Adobe Air anymore. A team member said that a few pages ago.

Full Throttle????????????
I think the 7 questions refer to the Atari games.
If you look on the main page at the slide show, you see 7 boxes for the Atari games.

Although I don't know much about who developed or published what and who holds the rights, i tried to come up with ansers. Based upon wikipedia I came up with some possible answers (not listed any versions):
What game made you dream of the stars? Civilization
What game made you ride with the outlaws? Driver
What game made you fear your past? Dark Earth
What game made you go to the underground? Boiling Point: Road to Hell
What game made you feel like a hero? Act of War (although I doubt it)
What game made monsters afraid of you? The Witcher
What game made you afraid of dark? Alone in the Dark

I think you got only Alone in the Dark and Civilization.

The rest would be Heart of Darkness(hero or monsters), Prisoner of Ice(past), Desperados(outlaws).

I'm probably wrong on some. It's hard to find a full list of Atari games.
Prisoner of Ice sounds indeed very likely. It's also inspired by H.P. Lovecraft.
Heart of Darkness is an Interplay game. The Witcher has been announced, so I'm sure I got that question right.
Around the time it got released I only played the Desperado demo based upon reviews comparing it to Commandos. The demo didn't make me want to buy the game. The crew you ride with aren't really outlaws btw.

Sorry,I thought that Witcher was just a nice suprise to other games.:D
Atari bought some part of Interplay, so maybe Heart of Darkness was in that deal.:P
Please, add the Soul Reaver series to your online marketplace. It's a pain in the arse to launch those games even on XP. You gotta turn off vertex shaders(!) in some cases. I use Windows 7, by the way. I would be nice to be able to play those gems without having such problems.

Sorry, bro. That's Eidos and now Square Enix has access to their resources.
The question about the Outlaws is definitely about DESPERADOS: WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE, guys...
I think the underground one is Dungeon Keeper
