I hear paladins punched evil doers for free.
If you want to be more evil about it, i got a few ideas.
a:Kill them and use there blood to summon up demons.
b:kill them trap there souls and sell them to demons then reanimated the corpses.
c:burn them with fire and more fire.
d:something to evil to be named.
Am I the only one who finds that picture on RPS fucking hilarious? :D
Maybe it is because I watched Planet of the Apes three days ago, but still.
YOU MANIACS! YOU DID IT, YOU FINALLY DID IT! :D

I thought it was pretty funny, too! As distressing as the news they reported is, it's always great to have an excuse to make a funny Photoshop.
Yeah if this was any more of a dick move, it'd be entering and exiting a vagina
Everyone's way too eager to flip out. The FAQ clearly states, "If you lose your Internet connection the game will pause while it tries to reconnect. If the Internet Connection is unable to resume you can continue the game from where you left off or from the last saved game."
The article does not state you can't play offline, only that you lose unsaved progress. This is not news.
Since Bush got elected and reelected I always thought it was impossible to underestimate the stupidity of people or companies but this really takes the cake: I thought Ubisoft would never ever be so stupid as to make you lose progress.
You DO know what will happen if a popular game gets released, right? It took two days before people were able to log on to the EA server in Dragon Age Origins upon release so how will this be any different? Imagine you getting kicked out of the game every few minutes like that!

The RPS article links to this PC Gamer article which was written after an actual review copy of the game was played.

I know, that's the article I was referring to. It doesn't state anything new.

What will happen if I lose my Internet connection when I play the game?
If you lose your Internet connection the game will pause while it tries to reconnect. If the Internet Connection is unable to resume you can continue the game from where you left off or from the last saved game.
Will I need to be online the whole time when I play the game? Including for single player?
Yes. You will need to have an active Internet connection to play the game, for all game modes.

In light of the experience of PC Gamer's reviewer, I interpret these 2 statements to mean that you can indeed resume from your last save, as soon as you can reconnect to the internet. The reviewer even provided an MSPaint rendition of what he saw when losing his internet connection. It didn't seem to leave any options beyond connect or save-and-quit.

Sounds like Ubi was careless with the FAQ.
Could go either way. Would like to see a definitive test.
