What are the latest news about LucasArts? Is gog negotiating with them or have they announced something regarding their old games? Even some rumors would do :)
I would love to see X-Wing/TIE fighter series at GoG...
From the FAQ:
Will you be adding *insert game/publisher here* to the GOG library?
GOG does not release specific information on prospective games or publishers until they already have agreements in place. They will not comment on who or what they are trying to get, only what they do have. Check the site's main page for news on what is coming soon, it gets updated every Thursday. Also, Delixe has created an excellent Publishers not on GOG and will they be? thread where the odds/pros and cons of many publishers coming to GOG are discussed.

Also, welcome to GOG ;-)

LucasArts seems to have lost interest in releasing their old games, even for Steam. Except Monkey Island 2:SE.
Thank you Wishbone. Yeah I know that GoG doesn't tell anything before they have agreement but surely there is some unofficial rumors around :) Or maybe something official by LucasArts?
It's weird how Lucasarts has also released some of it's old adventure games like Loom, Last Crusade and Fate of Atlantis at steam but others it doesn't. What's the LucasArt's problem with making money with some of their older games?

My guess would be the issue of pricing. Take a look at the rates Lucasarts games are going for on Steam. Now, consider that GOG ONLY offers games for either $6.00 USD or $10.00 USD. Perhaps the higher-ups at Lucasarts thought they could make more of a profit by selling fewer copies for more money, especially with regards to some of their more recent games. Also, Steam offers a certain amount of copy protection through its service, and GOG does not.
After all that, keep in mind that Steam is a pretty large service with a sizable customer base, while GOG is relatively small by comparison. Yes, it's growing fast, but CDProjekt doesn't have the same clout that Valve does... At least, not in the U.S.A, where both Lucasarts and Valve are based.
Lucasarts is also selling on Direct2Drive, but I don't know the details about how their service works.

I have to applaud Lucasarts for revamping the Monkey Island games so they appeal to a new audience. The problem is that now they've started, I wish they'd give the same treatment to some of their other adventure titles, including the Indiana Jones series and Day Of The Tentacle.
On the other hand, I'd love to see Jedi Knight and Rogue Squadron and some others available on GOG.com, because I can't get the installers on my original disks to work under Windows 7 (64-bit). :/
Don't know the situation with LucasArts, but here's LucasArts' situation.
I wonder what will be LucasArts without Darrell Rodriguez.
I'm not saying that the guy has transformed LucasArts, I don't even know what was his exact role in recent LucasArts works, but there are the facts.
During his time: Monkey Island remake, Monkey Island new series, some classic games re-released on Steam, Lucidity (well, the game seems not so good, but at least it was a new original and non-licensed game, in 2D), Monkey Island 2 remake...
I really hope the reason isn't gog's great DRM-free-policy.
Here is GOG's response:
"Got a few mins after a new release and decided to drop you a line about Lucas Arts. Believe me we are working pretty hard to get their titles here. Right now we can't compete with DD platforms with much bigger audience. LA decided to start with Steam, but we're hoping one day they'll be available for our beloved GOGers as well. The fact that we're specializing in good old games can probably help here ;-). "

Surprisingly, there has been very little in the way of rumors, unofficial or otherwise, about anything GOG is working on. They have been very good about being tight-lipped about everything. The closest we ever came to a leak was back when Activision joined GOG and one of the gaming blogs jumped the gun and posted a story about it one day early.

Aside from when they drop small hints that makes the forums explode in speculation whilst they sit back giggling.
I miss those days

GOG is still comparably small company and products it offers (old games) interests mainly the hard core gamers so news about GOG are mostly posted in news sites cartering that specific audience. Most of the mainstream news involving GOG are more about the big players (Activision, Ubisoft etc.) making deals with GOG, not about GOG it self.

This may be the reason some titles have not made it to Steam, such as Day of the Tentacle. They may be planning to revamp it at some point.
I'm not sure that I would like a revamp of DotT, it's great as it is, but I would definitely try it. I "just" want lucasart to release their entire backlog here. I would probably buy all of it. :)

Lucasarts is looking to get new management. Hopefully whoever takes charge will seek some easy success by giving fans what they want.

Judging by the Money Island 2 revamp they'll just reproduce it at HD and improve the sound and music quality. Nothing you can realistically object to. With Monkey Island 1 I don't think they did enough, to be honest. The animation wasn't improved at all.
