I'm seeing a lot of interesting avatars on this forum and I was just wondering why people have chosen the avatar that they use.
For me, my first avatar here was the "Bad Baby" achievement from Spore (the achievement has long since been removed from the game) and I used it as I thought it was shame it had vanished from that game.
My current avatar on the other hand is a reduction of a far larger picture that depicts the Wanderer from Shadow of the Colossus attacking the first colossus he comes across. I use that one as I am a huge fan of Team Ico, their work and the fan art that has grown up around it. Sadly, I have no idea who the original artist of that image is, but I like it so much I use it on my site and others too now. So, how about your avatar?

I have a COG because it was cool and it's my identity on most of the websites I visit. I even use it as my My Computer icon!

it is easy, i love alcohol (as bender does), I am lazy (as bender is) and i love fun (as bender.....), except i do not have shiny metal ass to kiss.

It's a crop of a photo of a Eucalyptus Tree. They are in my backyard. I like trees. And when I signed up here, I set the sub-title to reference them.
Plus: I use this name and avatar image elsewhere, so it makes it easier to see just who I am, and what areas of the internet I joined. I did have a second alias'n'avatar, but when other groups/individuals on the net started to use it I switched to be more generic and also unique.

Have you considered getting your ass electroplated? You'd be even more like bender then...

Mine is a (rather poor) photo of my Rancor action figure, which I'm very proud of. It was never sold here in Denmark, but my father brought it home from the US. Thus, it's one of a very few in this country. And it's big. About 30cm high. It's lived on my desk next to my monitor for many years now.

I keep changing mine, but many of my avatars come form board game components as I like board games as well as computer games.
The Duck is a chit from Red November; a game of Gnomes trying to stay alive in a failing submarine with a Kraken right outside. Only teamwork (co-op game) and grog will help.
