You probably should post Witcher 2 questions in the Witcher 2 forum . . . lots of help there . . . =)

So what happens when you run the exe directly?
Go to the folder your downloaded the game to, and open the installer manually. My own downloader tried to open a .bin-file

How? I used the Gog Downloader...I don't even know where the files went xD

I read you have to restart on the Witcher 2 forum so I will try that.

Look for the same directory the downloader is in, there should be a subdirectory called "the_witcher_2", in there should an exe file and a few bin files sit.

EDIT: At least that's how it works for the normal GOG titles, I haven't bought The Witcher 2 off GOG yet (waiting until I get paid, my CE will be enough for me in the mean time), but I assume it's the same.

Ah, yes, the wonders of "hide file extensions for known file types". I always forget that annoyance as it's pretty much the first thing I change on a new Windows installation.

It did finish for me also, but I can't launch installer and find no files... As gogdownloader was on desktop, I expected to find files there but there are none. UAC is disabled here.
low rated
guess it shouldve came with capital letters " Brain Required "

the install button bug had me screwed for about..hmm 1 second ? than i got it working :)
I have Win7 and I had the same problem at the very beginning. The downloader tries to start a .bin file, so I went to the download folder and opened it manually. My download was located in
C:\Users\*username*\Documents\GOG.com Downloads\witcher_2
where *username* is my username. If you have the proper, new downloader, you can see your download folder path by clicking on the Options button in the downloader.

You don't need to read Shakespeare to be literate. The very fact that you know to search for files, know one is an executable and know how to double click means you know to some extent how computers work. These things might feel so obvious to you that you don't realize that you had to learn them at some point.
