You could always pretend the game is set in Texas where you are fighting the invading Mexicans. Some kind of fictitious second act of the 1846 U.S.-Mexican war.

(Funny tidbit: I wouldn't even know about the U.S.-Mexican war, if it wasn't mentioned in a certain Monty Python skit. So don't thank our school system. Thank Monty Python.)

Sounds like what that store is doing is downright illegal. You should probably contact someone about it (I take it that there is some government run organization that deals with consumer rights cases like these)
