Elmofongo: Can I say something off-topic

Which game has the largest in game world so far is it an MMO that did it?
I don't know what game is biggest but Elite was famous for its procedurely generated galaxies.

Elder Scrolls Daggerfall, gimme a minute to prove it.

Elite IS 3d! ;)

But if we're talking 3d first person games, I suspect you're right. I doubt anything could beat Daggerfall's procedurely generated world.

Deck 17 and Facing Worlds. 'nuff said. :D

And Dust World for Vietcong. The most simple and one of the smallest maps I have ever seen. IIRC the max amount of people playing on this map I encountered was 50. That was some absolutely intense shit.

Isn't that only half of Farcry 2? It looks like just the first map. Not sure, though.

I think they are the same size I played Far Cry 2
Pretty crazy how much bigger Burnout Paradise is than games like Oblivion or GTA San Andreas. Felt a lot smaller to me, probably due to the insane speed with which the player moves around the map. Similarly, Morrowind always felt bigger to me than Oblivion, what with the limited fast travel options.

Anyway, does this thread irrefutably prove that The Longest Yard is the best FPS multiplayer map ever? I certainly think so.

yeah, I think it might be...

Cool picture anyway.

EDIT: also, lol at Daggerfall's size. That game is massive. They should have included Minecraft's theoretical filesize limits too, just for kicks.
