rainydaygaming: They're working on a solution. It's a client-related issue which will be addressed in a future update. It's a damn shame this wasn't properly tested before release.

pierrespartan: Thanks for the info!

(The new GoG update 2.0.73 doesn't change anything)
You're welcome. Yeah, the latest build doesn't address the issue.
Same probleme here. I need to kill the Galaxy launcher each time I want to close it.
Same here. Hoping for a fix at some point ;)
macbook air m1 2020, Sonoma 14.1.1 - same story on the latest gog galaxy
Same here...both on my Intel MPB and M1 Max MBP, both running Sonoma 14.2 Beta.

Really wishing for a native ARM version too...

+1 for the native ARM one, but I guess it will not happen soon.
Same here. What's worse is that now it won't even launch properly. There's just a pop-up window saying connection to the communicating service is lost and it has to shut itself down. I just don't get it. Even if there is no internet connection, why the client for a DRM-free platform cannot be used offline?
I can confirm this bug. This empty window of GoG Galaxy remains opened until force quit in task manager

Same problem, on December 12 update to macOS Sonoma 14.2 (M1).

How come? They said it's not a priority?

They said nothing (unless I don't know about). But considering that GoG Galaxy Intel version is still in beta since years... I don't really expect an ARM version soon.
I'm also seeing this with GOG 2.0.73 on an M2 Max Mac studio (Sonoma 14.2). The only way I can kill the Galaxy app is to bring up the Force Quit dialog (Command-Option-Esc) and shut it down there. Otherwise it actually interferes with system shutdown! Very serious bug.
Same here, latest update of both OS and client. I would also add that sometimes when I minimize the client and then I want to bring it back, it’s a blank window, same like when quitting client. But I also think this minimizing problem was here before Sonoma. Quitting problem added with Sonoma for me.

Oh and I hate this unresponsive forum interface. You can do better GOG. :-)
Eh... being fed up with it I've been trying Heroic and it works... somewhat better.

GOG/CDP could really focus on galaxy and this forum...!

I just noticed there are Psychonauts on sale on GOG and... I'm relly reluctant to get it to avoid being annoyed with galaxy or not being able to easily play it on deck :(
I am having the same issue where I have to force quit GOG galaxy, has been ongoing since Sonoma. Running M1 MBP with the latest GOG galaxy build.
