Steam integration shows offline retry. I tried deleting the plugin data but it won't get fixed anyway. Any possible solution for this?

To sum up, STEAM integration is dead.
and why is that? that would leave galaxy as a store you dont want to use. sad
I use Galaxy for everything EXCEPT Steam. Steam has perfectly adequate library sorting already, so Galaxy's not needed. But Galaxy is invaluable for EGS, Amazon, and GOG itself, allowing me to sort and categorize those libraries (which are massive these days for me, hundreds of games on each almost entirely from giveaways), which don't have sorting otherwise.

See this GitHub comment.

I don't use integrations, but it looks different than what you tried, from what I can tell.
Galaxy is not a store, it's a front end for playing games. GOG.com is the store.

Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to work. I did exactly what the comment says, and I still get the offline message for steam.
After the connection it downloads the list of games / times / achievements, but after restarting Galaxy it goes offline.

It does absolutely nothing for me.

Edit: After disabling IPv6 i'm able to sync my steam games.

So at the risk of asking a really stupid question, why can't I see this when I go to the menu within GOG to download the plug-in? It seems the old non-working steam plug-in still shows up instead, right?

It's a little quirky, as it has no place to put the code, but if you go back in the steam authenticator and Approve the connection, it works.
Working GOG Galaxy-Steam integration available now, follow the instructions int the Github:
