Microids is on a mission to bring us another installment of Agatha Christie’s iconic tales – Agatha Christie - Death on the Nile is coming soon on GOG!

A peaceful cruise on the Nile is disrupted by a terrible crime. Thankfully, famous detective Hercule Poirot is onboard.
Meanwhile, a private detective is tracking a murderer, leading her from London to Majorca, New York, and finally to Egypt.

The two investigations collide at Abu Simbel. The dynamic duo will solve a complex case full of twists and turns.
But the story doesn’t end with the book, and it still holds many mysteries and twists, even for Agatha Christie fans.
Dual Protagonists: Play as both Hercule Poirot and Jane Royce, each with unique perspectives and storylines that converge in an epic finale.

Wishlist it now!

At the risk of sounding sexist, we are a huge fan of Miss Jane Marple, of St Mary Mead, as essayed by the inimitable Joan Hickson, possessing all the pbs Myatery DVDs, which we never tire of enjoying. One of our fave episodes is "A Caribbean Mystery", where she is described by the local PC as possessing a mind like a "bacon slicer." Any UK foodie who relishes a "rasher"(or two) of bacon for breakfast will appreciate the culinary analogy. Cheerio!

solesurvivor83: I disagree wholeheartedly. And if you really understood what was going on you wouldn't say stuff like that. Here's an experiment: put 2 rats in a cage together, rattle the cage and see what happens. The rest is up to you to figure out, good luck.

Good health and happiness to everyone.
Do not be so insulting towards rats, they are worth way more than humans who hate on humans. ;)

When I was a kid I always got upset when movies and games didn't recreate the books I had read perfectly, but as I grew older I began feeling quite the opposite. The book have already made a movie in my mind, and if I want to revisit it I just read the book again :) Everything new that wasn't made by the author is fanart and should be different, not an exact copy. No need to rewrite an exact copy of a book that already exists every time you make something :)

Agatha Christie is one of the most famous authors and her work will lead to many more movies and games even hundreds of years from now, and very few would buy them if they were all exact copies of the books and therefor also exact copies of each other. And no matter what changes are made in the works inspired by a book, it will never change or destroy the original which will still be available for when that's the story we want to visit, and among the hundreds of Agatha Christie games that will be made in the future I'm sure we all will find some that are tailored after our preferences, so no harm in letting others enjoy theirs :)

It's like with music. I have my favourite songs that I enjoy listening too, but I get bored of them if I listen to them for years and years so I stop listening to them even though I still love them, and then suddenly someone makes a cover of it and I can listen to it again! :)

Variation is the spice of life!

Then please explain this to us, and then I might change my opinion:
Why is it that such backlash only happens when the change in protagonist is by the addition or replacement by either a woman, a person of colour, or both at the same time? Why does it never happen when the new protagonist is a white male?

"Why do I never see reactions to a thing that doesn't happen?"

I assure you, my reaction would be exactly the same if someone made a Miss Marple game and shoehorned in Cory Whitedude, PI. It's just I can't think of any examples of things going that way.

ok, rats got startled and confused for a moment, then went back to their food and then to their hiding spot to sleep. Now you know :D

Can you give one single example of such a situation? One situation where a female or black original character is replaced by a white male? I'm all ears.

Oh look at which side is doing the name calling in this thread to get it locked. Wish I was surprised.

All ears is quite on the mark since rather famously Spock replaced a female 2nd in command for the Original Star Trek.

Though you are right, swapping characters female to male doesn't normally happen, though this is simply because of the rarity of them within established media.

Indeed, why don't we see as much of a reaction on the Internet to something that happened 60 YEARS AGO as we do to current events?

Must be misogyny.

I see: always looking for (and finding, of course) excuses for your own ilk.

I'll take that as a compliment.
