lazydog: Excellent release gog and an instant buy.

One constructive criticism from me: the price point was way too low. I would have been more than happy to pay full price for this release at launch.
I'm confused. You could have just waited for the sale to end and paid full price then. If you care so much why did you instabuy during a sale ?

Now that i do understand, because he want it as fast as possible.
What is the difference between DOOMMx64.exe and DOOMMx64vk.exe? There doesn't seem to be one? I can select Vulkan in both (I believe).

UnashamedWeeb: I've been seeing a lot of double-dipping rhetoric out there. Where is this coming from? Do we know a % of all sales revenue that double dips?
I wonder myself as I have heard alot of other people going and saying'' If it showed up on Gog sooner, I'd have got it there but got it on another pc platform thats drmed so not getting it unless real cheap and even then that depends''' sort of remarks.. Granted I admit to double dipping here do to either not being aware of Gog till way later or do to getting a game I thought wouldn't show up on Gog anytime soon if at all.. But ever sense I have been aware of Gog I pretty much if I buy a game elsewhere its a game, I am pretty sure isn't going to ever show up here for varies reasons .. that or if the game does its a very very long time to wait

These guys don't seem to understand our points, @lazydog.
The point "that you both actually gladly will accept the lowest offer but even allowing for some more steamroll-features if unable to avoid, multiplied by every gamer on the planet?"

There are many gamers that may already see some struggle by paying 10 instead of 3 and their almost burned Notebook was a present from someone who was showing some mercy, but it can still barely play this game at lowest settings.

I remember when i was a teen. I never would be able to buy me a PC but i got a old PC from a friend for free... this is the only reason how i was able to play PC games at this age.

So, we got any people... the whole range... and for everyone the situation can be very different.

Anyway, the price is not made by GOG, by the publisher instead...

You may mail the publisher that they would be capable to "squeeze" more coins out of you and the same will count for every other gamer... which i agree to disagree... maybe the price will go up after.

Either way, i guess the next 2 weeks we will see a amazing low pricing, so everyone may get the chance to play it, even without giveaways.

Besides: Do not forget to buy the soundtrack, as this was really meant for support.

I can even tell a short story "how i did lose a Dark Reign 2-match" several decades ago when the game was still new: I had my first very old PC, which i got as a present... but my Pentium MMX CPU was simply to weak... so when there was countless of units moving to my place from another player... i got like 2-3 FPS... no joke... and so i was unable to move my units anymore. I still was playing it and had a lot of fun doing so, and as long as i was only playing it with very few units... the game was running fine. It was my first 3D RTS on PC... as far as i remember.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand this sentence, neither did Le Chat Mistral AI.

Can you please clarify or expand?
It is a paradox, neither you nor any AI can handle a paradox well, thats their true weakness. A AI is always trying to see some predestined logic and is picking the thing they consider "with highest possibility", at the same time neglecting the context, the surrounding. Which is a paradox by itself but as well the AI will not get it, because it got a very strong logic.

In more logical words: Both of you will gladly accept the lowest pricing, but it would as well be acceptable for a even higher pricing, as long as it can not be avoided. Both of you apparently got in mind this behavior is true for any other gamer, no matter their individual background. The focus you both are representing is a very personal one. Based on this very personal focus you may lack to see many matters which goes beyond this personal focus.

The essence simply is: You may not pay a single cent more if no one is forcing you, yet you do recommend others to force you... and are dragging along the whole puddle of gamers with. It is a paradox but a AI will fail to get it.

Mafwek: Just to make it clear, Eternal is the better game in new Doom Duology?

Reznov64: They both play pretty good but the music sucks in both games.
I'll be honest, my only previous experience with Doom 2016 was pretty negative, I bought it now when it's on sale, and I must say that game isn't as bad as I remember it to be. My main complaint that weapon upgrade system sucks a lot still stands though. And I kinda agree about music.

You're right I don't , because I don't think it makes any sense. If you wanted to spend more then you could have waited. You didn't have to buy it now . They aren't going to run out of stock.

I waited so long for this some years ago I bought it on Steam. It's a better game than Doom 3 anyway.
Looks like it's doing well so far, hopefully it sells well enough that the numbers can help GOG convince other more resistant publishers that you can sell games DRM free and make good profit.

Not thaaat sure... we had our fair shares of games all of a sudden disappearing in the past. In the case of Bethesda it is very unlikely, as i do not remember them removing games on the store. In any case... it is surely unlikely to happen any time soon.

I feel like you'll hear different opinions, but the consensus seems to be that Eternal has better gameplay (thanks to the dash and hook) while Doom 2016 nails the atmosphere and is more immersive

But some people still prefer Doom's gameplay because Eternal went all in with the platforming and forcing the player to rotate their weapons and it's too much of a headache for some, soooo
