fsmcas: uuhhhhhhuu watch out we got a dangerous badass here, he does not like the thing everybody likes and is ready to fight for his rebellion!
I like how he didn't just post that he doesn't care for the game, which would be perfectly normal to do in a release thread, but made it a reply to someone's question :D

Oh, another dull release by Bethesda. Was hoping in something bigger. Like Doom 2016.:)
I know you can do better, GoG + Bethesda.

Thanks anyway

This is the silliest thing I have read this week. You do realise that everyone has different tastes, and there is not a single product made, nor will there be, that everybody likes?

Why should i buy it if i'm not interested in it ? Already own the classic ones from the series plus Doom 3 and its expansion .

seelenernter: TBH... I've somewhat mixed feelings about this release...

It's great to see this game finally here (it's not really a DOOM game for me but a nice shooter) on one side, but looking at the price tag makes me kinda sad, as that means no good profit for either Beth nor GOG. Ofc the cutoff Multiplayer and thus reduced/damaged product calls for a price-reduction, but dang... I'd preferred to pay 10-20 bucks for the complete package... or even better 20-30 bucks... if released at least 5 or more years ago.

Still good to see it here at all, and hoping for Doom Eternal to follow in the foreseable future.
Yeah. I don't know how GOG makes money with 3 euro AAA game prices.

seppelfred: Fantastic! Instabought.

So there is hope for a release of RAGE then.
Seconded, I've always been curious about RAGE. But I was waiting for Doom 2016 so instabought.

Otherwise we'd be getting comments like "you want how much for an almost 10 year old game? GOG SUCKZZ!!1!"

Also the thinking might be that low price -> lots of sales ->"see how well your game is selling? Maybe you could release Eternal and Dark Ages here sooner!"

It looks like you can still access SnapMap. You just can't use it for multiplayer. You seem to be able to play and create them just fine in single player mode.
Excellent release gog and an instant buy.

One constructive criticism from me: the price point was way too low. I would have been more than happy to pay full price for this release at launch.
Just to make it clear, Eternal is the better game in new Doom Duology?

Buy 20 gift keys and make a giveaway! Now you paid full price and 20 gamers are smiling.

My constructive criticism: GOG should make the advertisement a higher quality trailer because the trailer looks like 35 years of age. Be honest, the game is not that old... so it got some more punch to show off.

Another issue: MP3 only on a OST? Well... perhaps the game can be played on a Android-emulator now and in such a case the audible difference is probably not bullet proof.

It's a personal preference thing. Many people like DOOM (2016) more, others like DOOM Eternal more and then there are people like me who like them both.

I think in terms of being a pure fps game DOOM (2016) feels more to the point. DOOM Eternal does add a lot of platforming into the mix and the overall combat loop includes a lot of quick weapon swapping to get the most damage dealt with your guns.

I feel most would disagree with that statement.
