It took years long than I'd thought it would, but man... it's great to finally see the game here. Fun weekend ahead.

g2222: No, I don't have a crystal ball. I don't know what next months' giveaways will bring or if Doom will ever be on giveaway anywhere. That statement was mostly cynical on my part. (I edited my prior post to clarify that.)
No harm though in wishful thinking :) Having said that, I'm going to get this when payday comes around.
I was gonna download an offline installer for Cyberpunk until I noticed Doom freakin' 2016 on the store page. I never thought that would ever happen.

gameragodzilla: I'd like to transfer my save files from the Steam version to the GOG version. Where are the GOG files saved?
%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\id Software\DOOM\base\savegame.user\
But the saves are incompatible and you will get a corrupt save error.

gameragodzilla: That's for the Steam version. I assumed that since it was in Saved Games, the GOG version would also save to the same place and I could immediately load my saves, but seems not?
That's because you get a different profile folder. Start a new game on GOG and you will get a new ID folder within
"savegame.user" folder. So then move the data from the Steam ID folder to the new GOG ID folder... but like I said, it won't work anyway.

Wow, what an incredible surprise! I didn't figure DOOM 2016 was gonna be on GOG! Thank you so much

Nice, very nice!

Although... would it be too much to ask for Eternal too? (and maybe The Dark Ages?)

I did see that now. Damn, the saves aren't compatible? That sucks. I even tried it myself and yeah, they get corrupted. Guess I'll do a full repeat playthrough then.

Good stuff, gog, sold!

Yeah, not gonna reward Beth everytime they release a game nine or ten years after its initial release on steam. And definitely not this one, I'd rather play Doom and Doom II than that.

Shit. I was just yesterday hit with a huge unexpected bill and promised myself no buying games and stuff like that for a while... but this is a big deal and a crazy low price. I guess I'll have to start not buying more games tomorrow :D

-80%?!?!
DOOM 2016!!!!!??!!!
Ok got it.

It took a while but that's one of the reason I still buy games on gog.

I hope we will get Doom Eternal sooner
Not interested in the game myself, but I want to commend that -80% price on the release, really nice.
