Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

FiatLux: Sorry I think that you are plain wrong there...
Yeah , maybe you don't like to install and use software to download , but I for one surely wouldn't like to be without the GOG downloader as I consider it one of the greatest and nifty downloader apparatus / tools around..
So for me no doubt that I would have to install a piece of software anyway ..
The Client hopefully can be used just like the present GOG downloader can to just manage your downloads (with the addition of being able to work as an install manger too) and if it can not then I will join the "choir" to which you apparently belong ;) :P
"kdgog" appear to be a somewhat typical "not that young user" that haves typically "not that young user" attitudes (besides the use of Facebook) and opinions... And that kind of user generally tends to focus on the "I don't like" (than seeing that "it's completely optional" so no need to make any fuzz over that...)
avatar
kdgog: Thanks for the comments, we probably agree more than not, and I'm glad Galaxy (and the previous downloader) are useful tools to you.

I should clarify that none of my comments were meant as "GOG DON'T DO THIS!" They were just meant as "You have lots of users, it's good to satisfy them all, just remember that we have diverse opinions and ways of working and it is good to offer options, bad to offer only one way of doing things - which I know you aren't doing, great, I just know it is better to say in advance than have changes happen and react retrospectively". Or something. Since there aren't regular surveys of GOG users and their attitudes (and, to be honest, many companies that do surveys completely balls it up by only allowing fixed choices that totally exclude what their customers want to say) the best way is probably through fora which GOG staff read.

Oh, and yes, you're correct that I'm not too young. My first console was an Atari 2600 (ouch, the blisters from those square joysticks while playing Berzerk...).
Thank you very much for the kind response :)

And yes ! : surely "we probably agree more than not" :) , as I wrote then I understand "where you are coming from" and I sympathize with many of your opinions (and understand them) , I think that we have just adjusted differently to some "modern things" such as e.g. that I more or less hate Facebook ;)

Red_Eagle_LXIX: Update issue 2:
After installing (manually because auto-update didn't actually update the client) the Beta over the Alpha my game path settings were all reset to C: versions of those paths.

Example I had the following paths set:
Install to: J:\GoG_Games
Download games to: G:\GoG_Games\!Downloads\temp
Download extras to: G:\GoG_Games\!Game_Extras

AFTER updating to Beta the settings became:
Install to: C:\GoG_Games
Download games to: C:\GoG_Games\!Downloads\temp
Download extras to: C:\GoG_Games\!Game_Extras
I had same experience ..

Alexrd: Aprox. how long does it take to receive a key? Asked for one yesterday, but haven't received anything yet.
There is no general amount of time this is taking. The keys seem to be sent out in batches. Therefore some people already got them and many are still waiting. So the only thing you can do is wait :-)
How does one tell if they're on the Beta vs the Alpha? I have 0.7.0.860 installed.

That is the alpha. Beta is 1.x
Normally restarting the client should start the update. If not, in your library you should now have the beta client instead of the alpha.

You may force update manualy or download latest version from library.
The current version of Galaxy on Windows is 1.0.0.871.
Glad I wasn't the only one.

The 2 easiest ways are the version number, and the chat features icon.

Exit galaxy and reopen it. It did update for me there.
Why did they go past version 1 with the Beta. Version 1 is normally the final release version.

Only at boring companies that do things the "traditional" way from a text book. ;)

The final release should end up being version 3.1415 or something geek-worthy. :)

If you're below 1.0, you're on alpha. Current beta is 1.0.0.871 for Windows and 1.0.0.836 for OS X.
Hi,

When using Galaxy, the left side where the "added games" are displayed is too big and thus leaves too little space for "STORE" and "LIBRARY" sections. I am using a 15" laptop. Is there a way to make this left side disappear? IF not, wouldnt it be better to remove this section while we are viewing our library or Store sections?

I wanted to ask here first before adding a wishlist incase there is something i dont know.
You are going you to put points on the achievements in future updates?

Sounds like a bug, not a missing feature. File a bug report in the Mantis bug tracker with the instructions in the first post, attach your Galaxy logs and a screenshot to the bug report.
No doubt this has been asked, but why are the GOG Galaxy downloads so much larger than the standard installer versions? For instance: Star Trek 25th Anniversary = 345MB for the installer. GOG Galaxy says that it is downloading 652MB.
Presumably the installer is compressed.
avatar
Kristian: Presumably the installer is compressed.
That was my first guess. If so, it does not seem to be a proper way of handing things, as there are still countries that have ISPs with monthy download limits. The extra size is only going to make life harder for those people.
