== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

I wanted to add to my last post about Galaxy deleting my games...

It also deleted my save games... not cool, not cool at all. I went to play some KOTOR and my saves were gone, didn't even get a chance to back them up. No warning, nothing.

This is very irritating.... I might stop using Galaxy until there is a final build released.

Yikes. Yeah I like how it looks, but as of now it's not even close to being in a usable state for me.
Well, my Norton Anti virus does not like it. But I added Galaxy to my Norton "ignore" list and that seems to have solved the problem.
Certain games will not work for me with GOG Galaxy. I tried to import the previous existing installs and got "game corrupted" messages. Then I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, so far two times now, through Galaxy, and after the installation is finished I get the "installation failed" message.

So far this has happened with Outlast and Mount & Blade: Warband. It also happened the first time I tried importing/reinstalling Quest for Infamy, but that game finally worked on the second attempted reinstall.

Are you installing the games with Galaxy, or installing them from the standalone EXE installers? I ask because all games installed with Galaxy allegedly should work, but games installed from the standalone installers do not all work yet, and some that are supposed to work have known problems. The first post in this thread marked "PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING" discusses some of this stuff which you might find useful, but you can also file bug reports of problems you encounter with Mantis (instructions in first post also).

Hope this helps.

Yes, as I mentioned in the italicized part, I reinstalled them through Galaxy.

And I would file a bug report, but I'm not clear on the part about about including a Galaxy client log. I found the location where the logs are, but there are multiple logs and I don't know which ones would have the useful information needed for the report.

Ok, I'd definitely file a bug report in mantis then so they're aware and can try to reproduce/fix.
Uninstalled.

Okay, guys? You need to understand something very clearly: Doing shit behind by back is ABSOLUTELY IMPERMISSIBLE.

No, doing it automatically is not "helpful." It is not "convenient." My systems remain stable because nothing happens to them that I did not explicitly make happen to them. In my house, the first three hours of a new installation of Windows is spent methodically going through every damned control panel and turning off all the "automatic" garbage and switching it to, "Ask me first."

I ended up having to trash two game installations because Galaxy did something without asking me or even telling me what it was doing, much less why. I could no longer trust the installs were the way I wanted them, so, into the bucket they go.

You have some updates you want to apply? Make a list and show it to me, with little checkboxes next to each entry, with none of them pre-checked. I will select what to apply, then click a button labelled, "Apply," and you will apply only those changes and nothing else. If I right-click on a specific entry, there will be a menu entry named "Changelog" which, when selected, will tell me what the update does/changes/fixes.

I realize the program is still under development, and things are still in flux. Nevertheless, one of the primary reasons I'm here, and not over at Steam, is because I don't trust Steam with all its behind-your-back nonsense. Please don't fall into the "convenience" trap, because it's not a mututally exclusive choice. You can create an interface that's very convenient for most people, while still providing fine-grained information and control for those that require it.

Grrr, I say, grrr...
Posting here for advice whether to post a bug report. 've searched and cannot find mention of this anywhere else.

I've only just d/led Galaxy, and wanted to put it through paces I'd commonly use it for. I downloaded Call To power 2 through Galaxy, and launched it. I had the common issue of the movies not playing. I quit out, changed the application file to XP compatible, and launched it from the file directory. At this point, the movies run properly.

I exited out, and went back to Galaxy to launch the game. From here, the videoes no longer run in game. I quit out, and relaunched from the directory, and the movies work again. I checked Galaxy again by launching the game, and the movies in there do not run.

It looks like that when you need to run a game in compatibility mode, Galaxy doesn't recognise any changes made.

I am running 64bit WIn 7

Any advice would be most welcome
Hmm, just got the code, and installed it. So far, I like the client, but it didn't import ALL of the games.. Seems like I'll need to redownload Witcher 1 and 2 before I can begin my series marathon.

Ok, so I installed the thing and started trying to import my already installed games... around 140mb of additonal updates right away? Per game? The hell? Even though I used the latest manual installers?

I know your issues list states it forces an update right away regardless of settings, but that much data? I'm not made of unlimited bandwidth.

Also, even for a beta there is too much crap out of my control, I want control and transparency of updates. I don't feel like risking any more of my current installs (And more importantly my save files) so I think for now I'll say "Wake me when it's a full release".

Yeah, auto-update being the default isn't cool. That doesn't work for the goal of NOT auto-updating, it's like a dog that poops on the rug the moment you get home, and then you're left cleaning up the mess.

Also it seems currently auto-update is a per-game setting. That might be okay, but there should be a GLOBAL auto-update setting and it should be easy to find before galaxy auto-updates anything. Possibly this should be a choice users explicitly make on first-time-run of galaxy.

There will be a global setting foe this.

Feel free to include entire log folder aipped and just provide an explanation of what happened and steps to reproduce. If you want to help even further, you can always close Galaxy, remove all the logs and then relaunch the Client reproducing only steps required for the bug to occur - this will result in much cleaner logs addressing only specific issue being reported.

When uninstalling game you should have an option to select whether saves will be left intact or should be removed. Did you report the issue to bug tracker? See sticky post on top.

Please bring back the option to limit the download speed soon! This is really essential for people with slow Internet connections... :(
