cw8: So Mannerites are the equivalent of Fallout NV's White Glove Society? Hahaha

I'm interested to see what toaster repair does, I would totally throw bread at the enemy. Backers get the exclusive Folklore skill. I really like this screenshot:

Awesome screenshot.

In the original Wasteland Toaster Repair was kind of a joke skill. I think there were only a couple of places you could use it, although they gave good rewards. There's actually discussion on the official forums about what to do with the skill in the new game.

cw8: BETA will hit in October for those who actually backed the amount, myself included :) . My guess is that the final release will be around 2 months from there or less, or more. I wonder if it's a good strategy to release it during the December period or would it be better in November.
I doubt that a game on this scale requires only 1-2 months of focused beta testing, unless they are doing their own internal beta first and just releasing the backer beta as a kind of early access. Bet it'll be in beta for a quarter year or so and release in early 2014.

cw8: I'm interested to see what toaster repair does,
Toaster Repair allows you to repair the rare weapon, the Mega Toaster 3000 (TM)*, also known as "The Rail-Toaster". It's a special weapon used in the twilight days of the old wayr where weapons and ammo became scarce, and they had to result to alternative weapons to beat the Commies. The Rail-Toaster uses special pieces of toasts with a alloy of depleted-uranium and I-Can'-Believe-It's-Not-Butter, The uranium provides the punch to tear through an Abram’s tank, and the ICBINB coating reduces wind resistance, allowing the weapon to fire great distances, as well as tasting great. Many a troop has died under the onslaught of this weapon. One victim, right before his death due to a piece of toast being fired through his torso at Mach 1, died saying. "I may be dead, but DAMN that is some good toast!"**

*Note Mega Toaster 3000 isn't actually an in-game weapon.
**Presumed quote. His last words actually sounded like "Argle bargle aargh....."

Not sure, but Bro None stated this awhile back in the Codex:

"Six months seems like it's quite a bit too long to spend in beta, yes. Late July/early August was our target date for the beta with a October release in mind, so... "

Seems like they're doing a 2+ month timeframe for the BETA? He also said it'll take as long as needed.
Well, If in doubt, spam his name and wait for his reply, since he works for inXile now, I guess his words can be considered official hehe :D

Oh, I'll be getting beta access to Wasteland 2 actually. I thought that was tied to a higher tier, but $55 and up gets it. Cool.
If I purchase Wasteland 2 off of their website, which I can still do with a DRM-free donation, is it a direct download from inXile, or can I choose merchants, such as GOG? I'd assume direct, but I thought I'd ask.

GOG, Steam, Desura, Origin, etc you take your pick.

Crosmando: A German magazine has done a special on Wasteland 2, includes new screenshots and lists all the factions and skills in the game. No spoilers of course (well I assume not, I don't speak German), here's a scan if anyone is interested:, courtesy of the Codex:
Edit: Oh Wait, I better remove this, it counts as piracy I guess...

I think you know the game is going to be unconventional when you've got skills like "Bullshit Detector", "Hard Ass" and "Toaster Repair".
Not before some people got it ;)
Eenteresting

Also, new UI elements! I love the dot matrix printer for the text readout!

Desura?
Also here's an English summary of that German article: http://www.wasteland2guru.com/news/25243-wasteland-2-gamestar-preview

"Finally, the target sales are 200,000 - 300,000 copies, which will allow inXile to continue work on their games throughout the year. "

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

There was actually an early play through that they posted online where one of the inventory items was a broken toaster. I was wondering why the guy would be carrying around a broken toaster.

Pretty modest, considering Legend of Grimrock sold 600,000 in a year and it was a just a dungeon-crawler, not a full-scale RPG

One of the people in the comments is a complete moron.

"Choices having consequences is bad because it means you won't get 100% of the content in one playthrough!"
