A pack in spaceship's clothing.

Star Wolves 2, an RTS/RPG about humanity's deep space exploits, is now DRM-free on GOG.com.

It's the year 2232. In a galaxy far far away, the human interstellar Empire is still licking its wounds after a fierce civil war with the oppressive mega corporations. With them out of the milky way, it turns its attention towards the looming, persistent Alien threat. Small, agile squads are best suited for the ensuing skirmishes, so your trusty pack of Star Wolves must ride once again.

Your fighters may be small but there is a vast galaxy to explore out there. Bring your imposing mothership and your nimble armada into over 50 star systems and tackle dynamic, perilous missions against space pirates, Aliens and rogue A.I.s. Customize your crew and ships by upgrading their skills and gear as you see fit. The non-linear story will take you on a journey through the treacherous, ever-stretching space highways, where the only ones who survive are those hunting in packs.

Fight the Aliens tooth and claw alongside your fellow Star Wolves 2, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Strijkbout: Haven't played the 3rd yet.
That one is the best in terms of gameplay / universe etc. Don't recall any VA in 3 though -a plus or a minus depnding on how you look at it.

tfishell: Nice to see it here. Shameless boobs on the news release. http://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/46280/header.jpg?t=1447352922
Dude, hurry!
Get Nintendo on the phone! ;P

Sliiightly NSFW ;P
Frankly, I'm shocked I didn't already have this on FireFlower. (They also have 3 there.) Thanks GOG & 1C!

yukiai01: WOW, with soundtrack :)
It does not happen often.
I didn't catch that either. I assume the soundtrack to the first Star Wolves isn't here b/c of legal reasons, but here's a thread on getting the music for it: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=14307

Regarding some reviews, this is the weekest part of the series.
Very nice. Will be adding this one to the pile while looking forward to seeing the third in the series here as well. Thank you. =)

A question for those who've played these games, what makes the Star Wolves games like RPG's? The description say's RPG/RTS hybrid, but the gameplay shown in the trailer confuses the hell out of me.

wolfsrain: So....when we expect the third one?!! Next year?! :)
That's a good question, considering how long they've been out on other platforms (ahem), I would have expected both to be released with some sort of incentive.

It's a party-based game with spacebar pause, tons of ships to buy, loot to collect, and skill trees to spend experience in.
I remember trying out the first game and dropping it (although i don't remember why, but it wasn't anything bad, maybe just burned out).

But seeing this... now I'm tempted to give the first game a try again, and maybe purchase this one if it goes on sale.
Yes! The first one is great. I was waiting for this one!

If you like managing a small amount of spaceships, like for example in the first missions of Nexus The Jupiter Incident, this one is for you.

Smannesman: IIRC this series doesn't do to well on the review front.
No, it doesn't. But if this style of gameplay appeals to you, then you will have a blast playing it despite its flaws :)

Probably not if I haven't bought it during the decades it's been available on other digital retailers.
Although I don't think I've ever played one.

tburger: I said to myself: why the hell I haven't bought 1st part yet...but then I checked my shelf and it sits there...Backlog is just too big..:-/
It's really embarrassing to get all excited about a game & then realise you already bought it, isn't it?

If my grandfather knew what I'm doing with my money, he'd beat me half to death.

And with good reason, too!
Awesome! Instabuy.
