Surely this has nothing to do with the comet that landed outside his Maniac Mansion 20 years ago or the two sentient tentacles running around the premises, right? Just in case, though, Dave picks two friends (out of seven in total - Dave is a popular guy!) and ventures into Ron Gilbert's classic point & click adventure, which reshaped the whole genre and later inspired a little sequel called Day of the Tentacle.

Finally, Curse of Monkey Island. I loaned my disc copy to a friend 18-19 years ago. I haven't seen it since, but I still have the manual and the big box :D

Yes! This is great news, really made my day! Now to start saving for these two games. :)
EDIT: Ok, I couldn't resist the temptation and got both games... it meses up my budget for the month, but I'll gladly skip a meal or two while I play these beloved games. :P

I'm so happy Maniac Mansion includes the version that looks like the C64, which is the one I had and the one I like the best. The LucasFan remake was cool and all (and I prefer that over the Enhanced version included here), but to me there's nothing like the C64 look... wish Zak also looked like the Commodore 64 version (though I'm glad the FM Towns version made the Mars maze easier to navigate).

So for people like me, who know nothing about these games, is Curse a different game from the Secret SE one? A prequel / sequel? And isn't Maniac Mansion "included" (mini game?) in one of these titles? I seem to recall reading something like that before.

Curse is the sequel to the 2nd Monkey Island game.

Maniac Mansion was accessible via a computer in Day of the Tentacle, but originally it was a separate game.
