Do whatever you want... in space.

X Gold, X2: The Threat, X3: Reunion & X3: Terran War Pack, a series of sandbox space-simulators, are available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. Look out for the games at up to 75% off in the Classic X Pack during the Big Fall Promo, or grab the games individually at 50% off.

The X games - X Gold, X2: The Thread, X3: Reunion & X3: Terran War Pack - are a series of some of the most ambitious and sophisticated space-roaming simulators ever created. This is no exaggeration.

The universe is a vast, ruthless place, a true final frontier, where the strong and cunning prosper while the weak are eaten up alive without mercy. But do you have the guile and determination to make it?
The X Series are true sandboxes - you are in charge of your destiny from the second you leave the hangar for the first time, until the moment you deem yourself satisfied with your galactic conquest.

Even though the complexity may be overwhelming to newcomers, the rewards are incredible: in the X Series you can do whatever you want. Become a roaming mercenary - go from nimble fighters to hulking destroyers, join one of the many factions in war, build and maintain a massive trading empire from rags to riches, even own your own trading posts and facilities. The possibilities are incredible.

You can now grab the entire series at up to 75% off in the Classic X Pack during the Big Fall Promo!

Trade, Fight, Build, Think in X Gold, X2: The Threat, X3: Reunion & X3: Terran War Pack, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com
What a pleasant surprise :) Was hoping these would come to GOG at some point..

Instabought!
It took Egosoft a very long time to get here...
...but hey, now they are here!
WELCOME ONBOARD!
Nice surprise! Never thought we'd see them here but now I'm glad I've waited and resisted buying them on Steam :)
Now if only I could find time to play them...

Instabuy for me too, even though only X Gold and Reunion were not sitting on my physical shelves. I've had fun with X2, but haven't played the others yet.

real.geizterfahr: I'm a GOGbear. People hug me all the time :P
\(*_*)/
Unexpected awesome release :)

A word of advice for X2: The main storyline is balanced for tincans; not the real deal. Expect it to be a hilarious when you decide to wait long enough with main story progression till you have a capital ship... and two corvettes as personal escorts. ;)

Also don't just SINZA trough a system from gate A to B in a capital ship on the direct route. You're too big & too fast for the NPCs to evade; took me a while to realize the cursing death cries where not pirate/xenon victims but ppl smashing into my ship :(
Great release! I was waiting for a long time for these.
Any chance of a 'reclaim your game' deal with Egosoft? I have the Superbox, the CD-key for which Egosoft allowed users to register on Steam... in fact that is the only way the last game was made available. Would love it if I could register my purchase here and get the last game DRM-free.
Nice! Bought em all, nice going GOG.com :)
Hmm, i already have the Superbox on steam but having Albion Prelude DRM free is tempting. I wonder if Rebirth will also be released here.
I just remembered one funny detail of the English version. The Xenon ships have single letters as names (J, L, M, etc.). In X3, the Xenon have a new ship (a M6 corvette which is a new class in X3) called "Xenon P". Combined with your ship computer's funny way to abort spoken messages as soon as there's a new message, this can result in hilarious stuff like "Cargo bay now contains... Xenon pee" oO

real.geizterfahr: There is an overarching story. But... It's not THAT good.
avatar
ShadowWulfe: It doesn't even have to be good, as long as it's not empty filler that amounts to a glorified "conquer the map 1v1 4x4" then it can keep my attention.
Nah, it's definitely more than that. It's "Follow this dude so we find his partners", "We need amount X of ressource Y" (that's the game's way to tell you that it's time to build a certain station), "Pick up A at station B", "Find this ship and bring it here" and "Kill some baddies". There's always a reason why you have to do these things, but the story is mainly presented in radio messages or e-mails. X2 is okay-ish with some cut scenes but in XC3 you'll notice that the game is mainly built for sandbox gameplay.

I haven't played Albion Prelude yet, because I never registered my Superbox key on Steam. So... Yeah, the current offer is tempting, but... As I said earlier: There's GOG's (almost) empty "Reclaim Your Game" page and Egosoft allowed Superbox owners to do exactly this on Steam. I don't want to "waste" €11.46 just to see that I can redeem my Superbox here with a free copy of Albion Prelude a few weeks later.

Personally, this is the best release on GOG yet! THANK YOU GOG, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

/me goes and re-buys every X game again
GOG, please fix the discount for X2 when purchasing the bundle. It's 50% instead of 75%, at least in Russia. Thanks!

I've got the Superbox with the humble bundle, but i'm tempted of re-getting the series just to convince Ego to release Rebirth here too.

Rebirth... I still don't know what to think about it. Egosoft always released buggy and incomplete games (and always patched them to great games!), but Rebirth... The whole concept doesn't look promising :/ I'll probably get it when it arrives here, just to support their way back out of Steam (Albion Prelude was Steam-only until today).
