Finally hit 20 in Rogue Trader...

some (i)nventory shots....

Hecata, overzealous former Astra Militarium General

Abelard, Mad Drunk, also 1st officer, of sorts

Jae, pretentious little bitch, has a thing with numbers though

and yes, snipers are preferred, as is plasma, powered armor and reverence for the God Emperor

I've been so close into picking up this title, especially heavily discounted but.... i managed. These screenshots remind me of that urge, though... Foul shots but pretty cool (y)

***************************************************

okay okay, just realized i forgot a special date. My GPU turned 1. Spend a lot of money on that monster but i have to admit, after breaking down my previous motherboard it's been actually quite the nice adventure. No head aches whatsoever outside some grumbling on certain developers that shoved their productions into the world without any regard for the current state in world affairs. Regarding pricing, environmental issues, world health etc etc. I mean, of course we need luxury items, but do us a big favour and call your next release Ferrari or something similar... Gucci ... Dolce ... you know!!!

With that said...

Some minor foraying into the world of Forspoken. I came across a sweet little dungeon and found meself awarded with a piece of jewelry after defeating a minor variant of a dragon!

Also....

Time for some retro! Never played this entry into my most enjoyed series. Back in the days i felt so up fronted with being forced to use gunpowder infantry units! Bombards okay but really! It took me a couple of decades before i managed a coping mechanism of sorts! Namely, i found myself with an urge for something classy and lets be real, 2015 - 2023 can be described with a lot of words but none of them all would contain something close to the word...

Classy!

Enclave

All I can say is that oh boy, I don't like this game so far. Fix one issue and another pops up. Not to mention the horrendous hit detection both in combat AND the environment kills it for me. If I could still refund, I would.

Finished yet another trial in forspoken. The first boss fight if you like.
It was quite the enjoyable one. Lots of mad stuff happening.

Prior to the fight i decreased some of the graphical settings and lowered the DLSS setting to performance. I have my gpu limited at 250Watts so i could not enjoy the graphical fidelity. Not that i had any time left for sightseeing.
I'm nowhere near someone such as LetmeSoloher in terms of skill level :p
With 3 offensive options and about 8 support magic options there is a lot to choose. Of course i did enable time to slow down with the menu's open. Think Skyrim inventory management during combat but with slowtime.
Anyways, Forspoken is fast game with a lot of screen shattering magical effects happening all of the time therefore it asks a lot from your system on higher levels of graphical choices.

The game is quite the memory trainer too.. With the defeat of the boss our lovely protagonist absorbed her power thus gaining access to a whole new school of spells. I'm not sure yet what this will mean but i do know that there are at least 3 other main powers still threatening life as we know it. As further as you progress the more skills offensively and defensively will be at your disposal. At the moment i'm starting to recognize and manage to apply the support stuff in the right settings. Still, now it does seem to be a daunting quest to manage everything if there are, lets say, 3 different schools of spells with a total of 30 different spells that all can be unlocked, refined and each have a specific range of usefullness.
I imagine this to be similar to those impossible combo's you can make in Nier Automata (check it out Here this is not the vid i was looking for :p. That one included combations done also together with some of the bot powers switching both during combat, crazy stuff. But this A2 showfight is pretty cinematic all together, enjoy i would say)

So, three shots that portray the road towards and an aftermath of sorts.
(one of the screenshots has me fiddling around with the internal screenshot option. Failed, but good enough i guess. In the shot our protagonist is swinging around a pole with use of her newfound fire magic)

Tainted Grail - The Fall of Avalon

Not a lot to see yet, but what it offers it does quite well. I actually had to install Skyrim SE to find out that Tainted Grail does feel a lot better in combat and crafting solutions. Let's hope these guys will be able to deliver a well rounded experience once this title is released from the kindergarten.

btw... Skyrim, wtf happenend??? Survival mode??? eating 3 round cheeses and still hungry. 2 cabbages, 2 whole loaves of bread, 2 bottles of wine and some other stuff to satisy a hunger need that stained 25% on my health meter. feeling tired after walking for more then a mile.... I can imagine eating cooked food will probably satisfy a larger part. Or that increases in stamina will provide some more mileage on my HE mage but so far i can't say that dealing with that sort of added realism is beneficial in any way!

Okay, I won't Lie. Napoleon's campaign in Italy turned out to be a complete disaster. TBH a faster handling of objectives was expected. It was a great surprise when the game signalled only 20 turns left, i'd literally had no gains to speak off on that point.Truth be told, i was actually looking for a more open challenge in the gunpowder age, therefore it was not hard to leave Napoleon for the time being and look back to the age of (europe) exploration and exploitation.

Location: somewhere along the coast of South America
Participants: Evil stinkin Pirates meet the Dutch Royal Expeditionary Safety Forces
Outcome: total disaster for both parties

It is nice to feel a bit uncertain about how you are expected to engage. Or better said, how engagements actually went in those ages. Are ships of the line expected to be fielded in lines? Lessons from pirate movies are of course applied too. Try to present a small as target as possible, never loose the wind in your sails, but how to apply those lessons?

In the end, i picked some long forgotten memory that suddenly decided to present itself accompanied by the smell of staled beer.
Deploy your ships in rows and take it from there!
And even that went a bit wrong :(

Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games

I'm on a custom campaign (total of 36 missions) where I'm finally enjoying completing missions with decent weapons.

I wonder if I'm not the only one who still plays it on GOG regularly.

Nearing the end of the Dungeon Siege 2 expansion. While I've played the base games numerous times, this is the first time ever playing through Broken World. Overall a very decent addition to the game, especially as it continues the story from the main game (takes place 1 year after) and amends the quite meh ending of the original game. You get to see what happened to the world (spoiler - it's bad) and the overall tone of the expansion is actually quite dark.

One of the most notable things though, is the voice acting. They seem to have gotten pretty much none of the original people on board to do the voices again, so all the recurring characters have a different voice actor. But it's usually actually better in Broken World than in the base game. Funny thing though, it seems to be really difficult to find who all voice acted in DS 2 and Broken World, as the credits have zero mention of them. There are a couple for DS 2, but I've found no names at all for BW. I do recognize some voices I think, but having actual credits would be nice.

Years ago I played through one of the two campaigns of Enclave, and while I remember the experience being slightly janky, I enjoyed it. Did you decide to finish it?
