tremere110: So, does anyone know if the level scaling is just as borked as the original? I quit the original for making the grave error of making a character who had primary skills that were the focus of my playstyle. Gained levels way to fast and ended up taking on enemies with top level gear that completely outclassed me. Please tell me that's been fixed.
This is the worst thing in the core game. You mod it to a proper scheme of leveling and scaling.
It was my main concern about the remaster, and it's only of the only core changed they actually addressed in the release video. The changed to be more like Skyrim, so hopefully it should make sense now.

Now that's more like it, such a shame modders to have save even the remake but hey
My experience so far has been great. Performance is pretty good (albeit with FSR). The game is beautiful and I feel like I'm in highschool again.

seskzklk: From the neutral unbiased alternative mod hosting sites I'm aware of DEG Mods seems to be getting the most traction. Still in alpha stage but already has a decently comprehensive and continuously growing selection - including the male/female mod for the TESIV Remake - available.
Definitely growing keen on DEG. Ran into mentions of it a couple times already and I like their mission statement and claimed methods (like the Web of Trust policy when it comes to moderation).

idbeholdME: And they are enforcing those rules in a completely objective and neutral manner of course :)

But no matter their blatantly obvious political bias, only a lunatic would still use Nexus voluntarily these days. Because they now claim ownership of whatever you upload to their site. From their ToS:

"
In particular, we may retain your content indefinitely and are not obliged to delete your content if you so request. The rights you grant us continue after this agreement is terminated or your access to the site is withdrawn by us.
"

If a site having explicitly written legalese about being able to tell mod creators to go fuck themselves isn't raising any red flags, I don't know what does.

But Nexus is basically the Steam of mods, so whatever they do, people will still come crawling back to it.

Is that the political alternative to NexusMods, like Truth Social was to Twitter before the Elmo takeover?

JomVanFliet: Unfortunate to see yet another classic's remaster/remake (ab)used as a trojan horse for trying to normalise body type 1/A & 2/B instead of Male & Female.

And of course the mod rectifying that got removed in an instant on good old totally-not-biased bootlicking Nexus.

Yigdboz: Based Mods got you, at least in this regard.

No replacement models for the deliberately de-feminised Spriggans in the remake yet, as far as I can see.
For the other mods uploaded there, the site looks like it's the OANN or NewsMax of mods, with interesting descriptions.

To be honest, that site sounds like a disaster waiting to happen if they go through with setting it up as they described. From what I understand, the way it's being built means that no one can actually remove a mod from the system. They can hide or block it, but users are still able to "unhide" and access those mods if they have the link:

"Reporting would result in us having a look at said reported post and determine if we'd block it or not. Blocking it means that it will be hidden from initial view on the website, yet it'd still be accessible if someone has the link, or accessible on other sites."

That means if someone uploads a mod with illegal content, be it anything from child pornography to blatant copyright violations, they can't remove it. Instead, their response is: “we'd essentially do the same thing as mentioned above, and at that point the relevant authorities would need to handle it from then on, as they try to find the perpetrator and prosecute them". While the illegal content is staying forever in the system.

Good luck with that.

Odessam: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Available Now ! ( No GOG release at the moment )
Hope this makes it to GOG!

I'm moreso a fan of the Skyblivion mod that will be releasing this year, but I'd pay to have an Oblivion remaster. Heck, I'd buy a physical disc if it ever released! ;)

Are all of these remasters and remakes showing the "weakness" of modern releases or simply a cheap way to monetize nostalgia? Maybe both?
Oddly enough, they really kept all the pointless loading sequences in. This really is another Oblivion experience.

Your descriptions alone make me not want to touch the site with a 1 kilometer pole. Maybe the site should be linked somewhere else, like Twitter, so we here don't have to lose brain cells in the process.

Cheap way to monetize nostalgia of course. And I have a hunch Bethesda is using this as a test what people actually want to see in the next TES game, since they botched Fallout MMO and Starfield.

The core of the game is still running on the old engine with old logics. What has been updated is simply the graphic frontend which is now handled by some UE5 "layer", somewhat hybrid in this term. Yes, the graphics looks better than ever ago but apparently they changed many stuff to be more on par with some political agenda.

I had this nightmare yesterday, and in it gamers were all able to use the same mods websites, weren't looking for echo chambers and frothing at the mouth over every single thing that didn't align perfectly with their views. People would just play games, use or not use mods and not be bothered by what other people are playing and what mods they are using.

Horrible. I woke up screaming. It was almost as bad as that time I ate some super expired ice cream, and hallucinated corporations remaking classics only rarely and very respectfully, without altering things for ideological purposes.

Eanthol: Looks like it got pulled fast, probably for violating Nexus rules. Not surprised given how strict they are lately.

Nexusmods is pretty much done for any mods not able to be "politically correct", so do not bother: Use another host or thats it.

If Steam and Nexusmods is the only "valid option", then it is probably time for a revolution.

Changed "many" stuff? What "many" stuff is that? I am playing the game, and not noticing any.
