greeklover: Liliana: "Sarkozy, we need time to destroy the eggs. Do your thing and distract that filthy abomination!"

As Liliana finishes her phrase, the monkey climbs a branch and starts jumping from tree to tree like an acrobat. At the same time he throws some mangos at the Spider Queen and taunts her. This proves enough to get her attention to him and away from his friends. The monster tries to reach him with its legs but the monkey moves strategically giving the impression that it is within grasp and then climbing higher to get out of reach. The Spider Queen looks up at the monkey and some gooey stuff falls directly in its right eye.

"HA HA! Eat my bird shit, sucker!" The borogrove cheers to celebrate the greatest victory in his life.
The monkey is the first one to notice that something was off, from his vantage point. The leafs from the neighbouring trees start moving, shaking irregularly and making the expected noises from this dance. But it cannot be the wind since this tree seems to be perfectly still (except for the occasional swings from Sarkozy and the Spider Queen grasping for a branch to get to that trouble maker).

The noise grows louder, closer and seems to spread from tree top to tree top, propagating all around them and soon it could be encircling our heroes.

At first look it appeared to him that the leafs and thinner branches are boiling with life, but certainly that is impossible. And no one can see anyone pulling them. What could be moving through them?! He stutters a few words but for some strange reason none can be made out, so he points instead. Finally something comes out: "D-do you see that?"

Certainly a queen is not a queen without some army...

Gede:
Oh great :) As if the spider queen wasn't enough of an opponent. Now let bhrigu find a way to kill all this stuff:p
Well... she wasn't able to climb that tree...
Just set fire to those eggs and escape through all the chaos

Certainly a queen is not a queen without some army...
The Trio stood in cold fear, as they felt the unseen presence of the eight-legged monstrosities encircling their very selves, binding their courage in threads of terror, feeding on their freezing souls. Moments felt like eras, and cold sweat on their skin melted into the air. It, however, dawned in the mind of Lilliana that something was off. They were still not being attacked.

The spider-queen and her minions, all stood at a distance, ready to pounce still holding off the attack. The answer now seemed obvious, the eggs were precious, and the queen was not willing to risk attacking them as they stood by the nest. But how long would this precarious situation have protected them? We do not not know the answer, and we don't need to know.

As tension seemed to settle on the forest like mist, a sudden flash blinded everyone for a moment. Out of the blue, a fireball had struck the spider-queen, and the critter seemed as much surprised as it was wounded. In the clearing, now stood a hooded figure wearing a scarlet coloured robe holding a wooden staff in his hand.
"A mage!" Gasped Plum, for, while once mages were an integral part of the society, in the recent years when our little adventurers grew up, they were not a common sight. A new hope was kindled in their heart.

Now as we have a mage, we need an epic battle.
:p
The spider queen gaines balance and realizes that the biggest threat is the one with the hood. She teleports instantly behind the mage. Plum shouts "Behind you" but she's too late. The mage doesn't have time to react and the spider queen slashes him with her leg. He would be dead now if this wasn't an illusion. Between the spider queen's antennas some sparkles are building. Liliana grabs Plum to get them both out of the way. A lightning bolt explodes next to them and they fall to the ground. They are helpless now. The spider queen prepares the next lightning bolt. One more hit and it will be all over. And the small spiders are moving en masse to finish them. Luckily a well placed firewall removes that threat. Any small spider that tries to cross it, turns into black ash. Sarkozy, who observed the scene, takes over. He takes off his pirate hat and throws it with his incomparable style. The hat cuts one of the antennas and seems to get lost in the forest, but one moment later, it makes a u turn, cuts the other antenna and returns to Sarkozy 's hand. The sparks dissolve safely and it seems that the adventurers are starting to get the upper hand. This is when the spider queen' s royal bodyguards arrive.

I meant it as a joke as also stated by babark in post 72. Not to be taken seriously.

Like a flash four spider wasps appeared out of the thickets, their wings shining in the broad daylight, their bodies covered in crimson coloured shells; they appeared suddenly like armoured warrior. Their presence seemed to dim the presence of every other creature, even of the Spider Queen to some extent.

Swiftly one of the wasps flew towards Lilliana and seized her to the great disquiet of her fellows. Not only were they slowly losing out on their momentary advantage, but one of their mates was also captive and in harms way. Sarkozy panicked and threw his pirate hat again, but the weapon couldn't even make a dent in the armour of the wasps. A vile smile appeared on the disfigured countenance of the Spider Queen.

Amidst this tricky situation, plum was the one who kept her wits to herself. She noticed a peculiar thing, all of the wasps had a lump of spiderweb attached to their head, and there was something shining underneath that crude enclosure. She quickly rushed to the Mage and whispered something in his ear. The Mage's eyes lit up in confidence, and in the blink of an eye he started shooting a barrage of fireballs towards the wasps. Sarkozy gasped in fear and thought that others must have gone mad in fear, for what else would make them endanger the life of Lilliana, still in the grasp of the wasps. However, none of the fireballs even touched the wasps, they kept shooting past them.

The Spider Queen burst into a monstrous laughter, little realizing the plan Plum had hatched and the Mage was executing. With each passing fireball the heat increased, the wasps were clearly at unease. While their armour protected them from fireballs, the mass of spiderweb on their head was rapidly changing colour -- the heat was burning it and a few moments later the webs burned to ashes. As the webs burned four green and glowing orbs fell on the forest floor.

It seemed as if the wasps had suddenly undergone a transformation. They turned their attention from the little adventurers to the Spider Queen herself. The Queen had already started to backtrack, and now she broke into a frantic run. The wasps flew chasing her, and soon the clearing was empty and calm. Plum approached the orbs laying on the ground. "these must be mind controlling devices the Spider Queen used to control those wasps", she exclaimed. As she was going to touch one, the Mage swiftly prevented her.
Guess everybody lost interest!
