It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

bluenightlagoon: If you got a shop how many people do you want to lose because of stupid gimmicks? You are one of those fools who think more new is more good. I bet you got an iphone.

The irony is we are talking about gog... good old games... and you don't get it. You got no spirit

* Moded. Please refrain from using derogatory terms.
It has nothing to do with flashy gimmicks.... browsers aren't being supported anymore for security and OS interoperability reasons. If you think that browsers and development standards are updated for gimmicks than you're really missing the point.

That has nothing to do with the issue at hand though. Or do you want to claim that all the other websites that work properly on a months old Firedox version, or his Firefox version or IE or whatever have security issues? Amazingly, all other websites manage to work fine (even something awful like outlook.com), only GOG, a store that wants to sell things to as many people as possible, does not.
Could the lost sales due to the redesign have anything to do with the CDPR stocks dropping? Both events seems to be in the same time frame.

IE very clearly has massive security holes. That's why it's been deprecated. The only reason they still patch it is for legacy support of Microsoft products they haven't dropped for enterprise yet. There's a reason that if you look at Microsoft's lifecycle documentation they for IE they offer migration instructions, it's cause it's deprecated.

Using a months old version of Firefox is no different. They don't release updates for browsers just because, they are mostly released for security patching.

I'm not claiming that security issues are the reason that the website doesn't work with those specific browsers. If you read what was posted you'd know I was arguing that it's ridiculous for people to expect support for ALL browsers, including old deprecated ones.

I agree that the site is broken, but complaining it doesn't work with every browser ever is just plain stupid, which is pretty much what some people are doing.
When people say it's broken, in what way do you mean it? Personally I use Firefox, both on mobile and desktop. On the desktop it's fast and works as I expect it, meanwhile on mobile it's a little slower than the previous design, especially the homepage, but definitely not unusable or broken.

Occasionally I browse from Chrome (desktop) at work, and even there it works fine.

And they still get security patches for the people that use the browser. No issues there, unless you want to claim that X number of security holes means the browser is deprecated.

Nope, he said: "If you got a shop how many people do you want to lose because of stupid gimmicks?" which is very valid. Don't forget that it's not just main browsers but also forks which are affected. There was a thread regarding Firefox ones a while ago.
"Some people" - it was one drive-by poster who may or may not have been serious.
Complaining about the website design is a waste of time. They don't care and just ignore your comments.
Apparently they don't even care about losing sales. Go figure! Heck of a way to run a company.
Anyone besides me still like it here? :P

People posted various screenshots in several threads in October. But, for instance, the main page looks like this for me (can't see my account, don't see any news, prices don't show, can't put games into cart etc etc etc - basically, it's unusable). IE has similar and slightly different issues in general. Opera (IIRC) also had something which I can't remember.

That's why I'm surprised a Blue actually answered in this thread.

You live here. You wouldn't even care if it was leaking through the roof.

Lucumo: It's not smart to gatekeep potential customers by not supporting recent (or current in the case of IE and who knows what else) standards.
IE? Recent? Good one.

If people want to keep using their outdated browsers that's their own damn fault.
Curious, how do people explain that GOG's site works just fine on years old Vivaldi (v.1.0.435.46), yet doesn't on pre-Quantum Firefox?
The new website won't run on Chrome version 1.0.154 from 2008 THIS IS WRONG!

Yep, me. 160+ games, happy with them all. I don't expect to buy many more as I came here originally for the "old" games, and of course with licensing issues etc, they are a limited target.

When GOG stopped supporting XP I felt as if I had lost a friend. Since getting a new system with Win7 I have happily renewed the friendship.

One thing I do notice here in the forums, EVERY time there is a sale of any kind, there is always a batch of moaners. Even worse when a developer / publisher announces a game here....immediately followed by cries of "what about X?" I swear if someone offered them a fiver they'd complain about the colour and ask for a tenner.

I suppose MOST of them are of an age where all they know is have it "now" and "tailored just for you". Those of us who remember proper letter writing, to say nothing of Spectrum tape loading times are a little more understanding. Perhaps a little more.....mature.

Tell you what Tiny, I'll bring the cookies, you break out the popcorn. In 3, 2.....

I know the site has some problems, but they're not really major issues and overall, the place is still great.
