Those would be major games taken out of this catalog. If they are removed I hoped GOG will step it up with some big releases to compensate. But I'll still keep my fingers crossed. They said multiple times they'll try and make sure that they get to keep all current games in the catalog...still think they should've tossed a bid for a franchise though XD (wishful thinking).
Omg That test drive Series on sale, hope some good racing dev buys it
GOG staff said GOG will do everything in their might to keep the Atari classics being sold here.

I hope they weren't lying and they will bid here.

I thought GOG/CDPR wasn't in the bidding game, as I would have expected them to make a go for Homeworld. :-(

Gah this sucks (well, based upon what you guys are saying, I'm very worried). Who in their right mind would look at the sales data for MoO and TA (at least, given how well they sold), and then want to remove them and make them Steam-only? *thumps head*

Can't win.

That's what happened with baldurs gate enhanced edition , it was removed from apple store and beamdog but steam version is safe
I was worried when I read this news, it seems others are as well.

I'm not super looking forward to a new star control or total annihilation game...

At least I already own the games I want on gog.
I am curious as to why wargaming.net is snatching up classic franchises. They are not likely making anything new for a long time with there current moneymaker, warplanes in open beta and warships a while out...

I do get TA since they made massive assault, but MoO does not make since, it would have fit much better in the hands of Stardock.
The Wargaming.net thing probably has to do with how Wargaming purchased Gas Powered Games earlier this year (after the failed Wildman Kickstarter), Chris Taylor being the lead developer of Total Annihilation and all

That does make me wonder if they intend to create a TA that's close to the original. Or if they're going to rope Chris Taylor into turning it into another wargaming MMO.
Star Control, sweet. That's the license I would've wanted from the stuff that was up for sale. I hope and pray Stardock can do something deserving of it.

Star Control + Master of Orion seemed the most likely choices for Stardock and I guess they felt the same if that chart is to be believed. I would have thought MOO to have been their main interest though, but that may simply have been PR speak of course, no point saying the one IP you're adding was not the one you actually wanted the most :)

I think Star Control will stay on GOG, Stardock is already onboard.

I'm afraid about Master of Orion and Total Annihilation though.

For Star Control 2 the free Ur-Quan Masters is a better option anyway. But yeah I imagine they'll stay, the concern is more that a future game created by Stardock is likely to be Steamworks.

What the hell is with some of those parties involved though. On the Go Technology is a mortgage company?

It's unlikely that Star Control 4 by Stardock would be any better than the terrible Star Control 3, they are just names after all, to make a good game you need good designers, and Stardock's offerings in recent times have been very hit or miss
Oh no, oh no, oh no.

Of all the companies that could have bought Master of Orion, why did it have to be Wargaming.net that got it.

I do NOT under ANY circumstances want a F2P Master of Orion game. That would be like pissing on SimTex' grave.

As for Star Control, I would have liked it to find another home than StarDock, but at least they can probably be trusted to make something in the spirit of the originals. Even if it'll have a shitty art direction. I respect Derek Paxton a lot.

Is Wargaming.net an F2P only company?
