Skull13: I guess there isn't anything that can port Win 3.1 games?

I don't think so, not without completely recompiling the game binaries. The problem is that 64-bit editions of Windows no longer have a compatibility mode for 16-bit applications. Using virtual machines is basically using your 64-bit operating system to run a 32-bit operating system that still has 16-bit application compatibility. As I don't see Microsoft giving GOG.com the right to redistribute Windows 98, I don't think virtual machines will ever be an option =).
Awesome... one of those classics I never got around to playing.
Think I will wait to see if the first one comes out though.
Wonderful release, definitely a game that needed to be on gog :)
I hope that gog will be able to convince Presto Studio to release Pegasus Prime and the enhanced OSX version of Buried in Time on PC ^_^
This is what happened about 10 minutes ago.
"Hey, it's tuesday, I guess I'll check GoG, I doubt they'll have anything good I want today though, they haven't had anything in awhile."
:goes to GoG website and screams:
I don't think I've ever clicked buy now and entered my payment info that fast, ever.

Hello,
I'm a long-time lurker just getting around to posting, but I needed to post to say that this series is some of my favorite games of all-time, and YES, it is that good!
THANK YOU GOG! Now get the rest of the series on here (please?)

Hmm it's good, but it has quite a few problems. The main thing going for it is that it is uniquely weird if I remember correctly from my experience.
The main detractor is that this is one of those games where the actual "screen" is within a larger surround/interface type thing. This cannot be removed and if you look at the screenshots the suit is taking up a LOT of the screen. I recall reviews of the time being really put out by it.
If that doesn't put you off, and you like adventures. Definitely give this a go, it was for me very enjoyable.
For those wondering about playing the second game. I played this game when it was released and I didn't even realise it was a sequel. I did not have any problems following the plot.

Velvet, you OWE it to yourself to play this one. I have and played the first one (once) and while I kinda liked it, it paled in comparison. It was too dated and had a hellacious puzzle that prevented me from ever wanting to replay it. I got hooked on Buried In TIme and still want to replay the third game Legacy, which I also have but it plays with crappy sound on my XP. It also isn't up to BIT.

Well, the avatar was a bit of a clue, I suppose. :P

Haha It's not your fault. I'm just excited because I remember playing this as a little kid and loving it. It is a good game, but that nostalgia really made me happy :D

The XP sound issue is easily remedied.
Hold the windows key and 'R' to open the Run dialog.
Type "dxdiag" and hit Enter
Select the 'Sound 1' tab and turn audio acceleration all the way off.
May require a restart and apparently doesn't work on Win7 :-(.
It would be amazing if they could release the remake of the first game that everybody missed out on because it was only released for PowerPCs.
edit: yeah, as Gersen said.
