Not sure. But after all if Tolken used others to write up his ideas after having dictated them (this is what my teacher told me when I was at school), I see no reason he could not, it would explain the huge collection of books he produced.

RIP, Mr. Clancy's one of my favorite authors. And Clear and Present Danger is one of my favorite films as well.

I checked before posting this and there was no other thread on the subject at the time or I'd have simply posted there.

Although I actually haven't read any of his stuff, I was quite surprised when I heard the news. Rest in peace.

I haven't actually read his books from beginning to end but I did see quite a few movies that were based off of them with my favorite being Patriot Games.
This is really depressing to say the least.

Sad to hear about this. Liked some of his books. All way too thick of course :)

Dang. Some really enjoyable stuff coming from Mr. Clancy.
One of my favorites is the collaboration with Larry Bond, on Red Storm Rising. Much love for this since the naval scenarios were played out using the rules Larry Bond had written for a board game which eventually appeared on the PC as "Harpoon".
Condolences to his family and friends.

I have never read his books, but enjoyed Splinter Cell games. RIP.
