Anyone remember that company? The published rpgs all over the place in the 80s and early 90s. Eye of the Beholder, the gold box games, Dark sun.

Does anyone hope\think these games might show up on GoG? It is pretty much the only "huge" company GoG doesn't have the game-rights to now, after they got Lucasarts.
Didn't SSI also make those cool flight-sim games like Su-27 Flanker?
I remember it, vaguely... Glancing at Wikipedia it says it was merged into Ubisoft back in 2000 or so...

But honestly i didn't buy that many games in my younger years, namely i didn't have the money to do so. Although i do remember Dark Sun, or rather my brother played it far more than me.

It looks like GOG has a couple of SSI games, but not many.
I, for one, would love it if GoG released the Eye of the Beholder games, and all those D&D games. So much heart and soul in the old rpgs. (It is nostalgia speaking :) )
I do believe I heard that the original founder of SSI was bringing it back, with plans to make games along the same lines of the ones they used to, only without the licenses that they had, of course.
Steel Panthers III, right? That was practically my first video game, didn't understand it very well, but it was really fun. I mostly enjoyed the tanks blowing up stuff, leading to me mostly attacking the ammo dumps at the cost of victory.

Is the Steel Panther series really coming to GOG?

No.

Aww. Well, one can dream!
Would be lovely to have those. Eye Of The Beholder 1 and 2 would be great additions. Some of the others were great too. Real Good Old Games RPG-wise.
If you want more SSI, I'd suggest making your voice heard to Ubisoft:

Now that you mention it, I have heard it too. Fairly recently, in fact. Keeping my fingers crossed for it.
Pools of Radiance was one of my faves. I bought the Gold box set back in 99 or early 2000 for all those games and the old code wheel/manual lookup copy protection was awesome. :P The copy protection was as much fun to play as the game in a few cases.
I very much want the GoldBox series to be here to sate my D&D fix. I intended a while ago to play all the D&D games and do a retrospective on them, but I've changed focus of that a little bit. Would still be helpful though.
