CDP Days 2011 Spring Conference has just finished and everything is clear now. If you haven't been able to tune in to watch the live stream, don't worry. We've prepared a quick summary of our presentation with a video recap for your convenience. So, let's not wait any longer.

At the very beginning we had to brag a bit about how awesome the service is doing, of course thanks to you - our great users. And then, suddenly, the lights went off, creepy moans started letting out from all over the place while The EnigmaticT tried to discern something in the dark with his flashlight.

Worry not, it was the announcement of Alone in the Dark, that comes with Alone in the Dark 2 and Alone in the Dark 3 as free bonus materials! This great series starts a new wave of Atari games that will be available in the coming weeks! And on 10th of May as the last game from Atari, we'll release The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut. What's even cooler we're going to have a special, time-limited offer that will give you a 50% discount, so the game will cost you only $4.99!

As we're on the subject of The Witcher, we had more cool stuff about its upcoming sequel on GOG.com. Starting on May 10, everyone who pre-order The Witcher 2 on GOG.com will be able to pre-purchase the game and download 90% of the build, so they can play the game on release day! So if you haven't pre-ordered the game yet, you'd better do that before May 16! More details on The Witcher deals can be found here.

Pre-downloading such huge game like The Witcher 2 is some serious business, and you'd need some serious downloader to do that. That's where the GOG.com Spring Site Update comes in! Late April we'll introduce a brand new, improved and slick GOG Downloader which will allow you to download all your GOG games fast and easy. What else? Personal messaging will be now possible for all our users!

But that's not all! At the very end, spotlight was on your favourite French Monk, who had some news regarding new publishers coming to the site. Microsoft, Electronic Arts, LucasArts, Take2 and SquareEnix - one of those publishers is already signed, while two more from the list are almost on board! Which and when is coming? Well, you'll have to wait a bit for that :)

You can watch the video recap of the presentation here. Enjoy!
Hey I watched for 5 min - that's it? It is 7:10 p.m here... Did they changed agenda/timeline?
Guy said 25 games with the signed publisher. Got to be EA. They have a huge catalogue.

As for lucasarts, did they even make 25 games? I can only think of about 5. Don't know. Could never get into the adventure genre, anyway, so excuse my ignorance about lucasarts.
So the original witcher comes to GOG next month for 4.99 cant wait, a bit pissed that the physical copy of the witcher 2 is shipping with securom ,which i lay at the feet of the publisher.
So be sure to tell anyone who is ordering the digital version elsewhere to order the GOG version since i am sure securom is shipping with all the other digital versions.
Like the idea of a new downloader, i would really like to see the ultima series make it to GOG as well as some classic lucas arts games.

dr.zli: why is everyoe ignoring all the the tesed games on a main page under a big white caption reading new wave of ATARI games... All those teasers were for atari games..
avatar
nondeplumage: Who's ignoring it? It's a big list on the front page, COMING SOON BUNCH OF ATARI GAMES with Along in the Dark already up for sale today.

We still want to know who the hell the new publisher is.
not you, there are still people making wild guesses about hinted games but forgetting they'll all be from atari :/
If anyone wants a recap, just dig through my previous posts in this thread.
A little bit disappointing that they couldn't tell us who the new publisher is yet. But at least they told us it was one of the five and the hints make it pretty clear that it's Lucasarts. I don't really have any interest in Alone in the Dark but I can see it's a great addition to GOG. A famous series that (arguably) lead to an even more famous series (Resident Evil). It's good that people will be able to legally obtain these games (and get them working) easily again.

As for whether Lucasarts has 25 games?

...

Yup.

Over 40 just off the top of my head (and only 3-4 of them are stinkers). I haven't even touched the console exclusives that might be emulated (The Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, and Gamecube titles were VERY popular)

Maxxer: If we get system shock, I would buy it for 10 people who have not played it >:o
I never played it but I will buy mine copy for sure so give it to someon's else :)
Ummm... so this is it? All this buildup over the past few days, just to tell us... essentially nothing? Talk about anticlimactic.

I'll be sure to remind you when it gets released.

taczillabr: The oh-so-trendy event of announcing an announcement, announce you will announce a publisher but right in the conference you end up not announcing it...

My head hurts...
I think it's likely they got asked by the publisher not to reveal the name just yet.
WOOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!

Brillo news GOG!
Thats why I love ya! :D

Definitely going to get The Witcher and The Witcher 2 once they are out.
(Heck I already own The Witcher, but at that price its worth buying again!)

You have to be the greatest business of all time! :D
(I'd love to work there. I'd even learn Polish!)
So I've already forgotten: did they announce when they're going to announce they have an announcement to announce on the front page of announcements on when we'll actually get a name?
This is all excellent news. If EA is indeed one of those mysterious publishers, that would open the floodgates on 20 years of concentrated awesome.

AquariusX: One thing: When you're picking free items to give away to your users, don't forget that there are girl gamers too! Where's a calendar of strapping warriors for US to stare at?

reaver894: A very valid point.

Sexism
Girls get to look at Geralt during the whole game, dammit!

I'm sure there a bunch of other Star Wars games too that are notable.
