CDP Days 2011 Spring Conference has just finished and everything is clear now. If you haven't been able to tune in to watch the live stream, don't worry. We've prepared a quick summary of our presentation with a video recap for your convenience. So, let's not wait any longer.

At the very beginning we had to brag a bit about how awesome the service is doing, of course thanks to you - our great users. And then, suddenly, the lights went off, creepy moans started letting out from all over the place while The EnigmaticT tried to discern something in the dark with his flashlight.

Worry not, it was the announcement of Alone in the Dark, that comes with Alone in the Dark 2 and Alone in the Dark 3 as free bonus materials! This great series starts a new wave of Atari games that will be available in the coming weeks! And on 10th of May as the last game from Atari, we'll release The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut. What's even cooler we're going to have a special, time-limited offer that will give you a 50% discount, so the game will cost you only $4.99!

As we're on the subject of The Witcher, we had more cool stuff about its upcoming sequel on GOG.com. Starting on May 10, everyone who pre-order The Witcher 2 on GOG.com will be able to pre-purchase the game and download 90% of the build, so they can play the game on release day! So if you haven't pre-ordered the game yet, you'd better do that before May 16! More details on The Witcher deals can be found here.

Pre-downloading such huge game like The Witcher 2 is some serious business, and you'd need some serious downloader to do that. That's where the GOG.com Spring Site Update comes in! Late April we'll introduce a brand new, improved and slick GOG Downloader which will allow you to download all your GOG games fast and easy. What else? Personal messaging will be now possible for all our users!

But that's not all! At the very end, spotlight was on your favourite French Monk, who had some news regarding new publishers coming to the site. Microsoft, Electronic Arts, LucasArts, Take2 and SquareEnix - one of those publishers is already signed, while two more from the list are almost on board! Which and when is coming? Well, you'll have to wait a bit for that :)

You can watch the video recap of the presentation here. Enjoy!
Darn it GoG. I backed-up my entire collection, you know, just in case.
Well, that was kind of a waste of time :(
Yay for announcing an announcement!

serpantino: The 3 are most likely to be Lucas Arts (the first with 25 games), Take 2 & Square Enix as those are the ones that've been most willing to throw their old stuff out to other digital distribution services already.
I'd bet Take2, LucasArts and Square (or old EA rather than Square) I'd bet a large amount of money that new EA and Microsoft will never let their games go without DRM
What game made you ride with the outlaws?

^ I think this one is Desperados. Atari published it.
When will we know what the other Atari games are?

spindown: Ummm... so this is it? All this buildup over the past few days, just to tell us... essentially nothing? Talk about anticlimactic.
Alone in the Dark along with six other Atari games to come, including The Witcher 1, and a new big publisher coming this summer with 25 more games. That's a quite a bit more than nothing, in my opinion. ;)

Plus, TW2 opened a can full of kickass if ever there was any! Skyrim had better beware.

New games will be announced every week, counting down to the May 10th release of The Witcher 1, which is the same day you can pre-purchase and preload TW2.

Yes, they announced that they are going to announce a really big announcement about an announcement in due course.

nondeplumage: So I've already forgotten: did they announce when they're going to announce they have an announcement to announce on the front page of announcements on when we'll actually get a name?
Don't forget Afterlife on that list of LucasArts games! I know, it's not really relevant right now, but I wanna play Afterlife.
I'm very happy about the games coming to GOG, whatever they will be.

On the other hand, the witcher part had a bit too many mentions of prates. I mean, I can understand their...concern with piracy and how they don't want illegal versions of the game available before the actual launch, but apart from the DRM, I don't see why mentioning how the game's features are not for pirates (in a "Haha, you won't get anything from us, pirates, go die!" way) is necessary. That much is obvious, right? Why would anyone think that people who worked hard for years on anything want it to be distributed illegally? Unless there is some story behind this, I can't really put it anywhere...
Apart from that, it was all really good and I would like to thank everyone involved with presenting this conference and also those who worked hard for the very things presented.

Well EA already released some of their older games not only DRM-free but even totally free so you never know.
I need to either stop watching GOG press events or just come to expect this kind of thing. And you know, it wouldn't even have been so bad if they hadn't actually LEAD INTO not announcing the publisher by JOKING THAT THEY WOULD NOT ANNOUNCE THE PUBLISHER and saying that, hey, wouldn't it suck if we DIDN'T ANNOUNCE ANYTHING ABOUT A PUBLISHER?
Sam and Max! Now there's a game. I've gone all nostalgic!

Sadnasser: Guy said 25 games with the signed publisher. Got to be EA. They have a huge catalogue.

As for lucasarts, did they even make 25 games? I can only think of about 5. Don't know. Could never get into the adventure genre, anyway, so excuse my ignorance about lucasarts.

evilguy12: Off the top of my head...

Sam and Max: Hit the Road
Indiana Jones: The Fate of Atlantis
Grim Fandango
Maniac Mansion
Zak McKraken and the Alien Mindbenders
Day of the Tentacle
The Dig
The Curse of Monkey Island
The Secret of Monkey Island
Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge
Escape From Monkey Island
Full Throttle
Knights of the Old Republic
Knights of the Old Republic 2
Star Wars: Tie Fighter
Star Wars : X-Wing
Secret Weapons over Luftwaffe
Star Wars: Dark Forces
Star Wars: Jedi Knight Academy

I'm sure there a bunch of other Star Wars games too that are notable.

BrowncoatGR: I think it's likely they got asked by the publisher not to reveal the name just yet.
Yeah, it might be contractual to not reveal it until the games' release date here; so they just teased it with 5 publisher logos.

It can be any of those publishers:
Eidos/SE is the easier to get I guess, and they have lots of average/great franchises.
Lucas Arts is already on Steam, they have 25 titles in total if you count lots of Star Wars titles. And LA probably likes DRM.
EA has excellent 25 titles.
Take Two/2K has lots of GTAs and Civilization 3,4 and others.
Microsoft going drm-free? Heh not so sure, but you never know, since they are "back into PC gaming", right? hahaha

nondeplumage: So I've already forgotten: did they announce when they're going to announce they have an announcement to announce on the front page of announcements on when we'll actually get a name?
No. Err, yes. No, I don't know anymore.

Too many announcements, just wish they said the damn publisher name!

Cy-Fox: No answers to the teaser questions? :/
The teasers are all Atari games. At least, that's how it seemed he said it....and are being released over the next few weeks.

Which game made you dream of the stars? - Asteroids!!!

Edit : wrong game named.
