Wishbone: Since my original post here was about my old avatar, I'll make a new one.
My current avatar is from the cover art of the one of the best games in history, the C64 version of Wizball, and it's... Well, the Wizball. I didn't cut it out of the image myself, I found the avatar on Google image search, IIRC.

You took the funny out of it. I thought it was an angry watermellon.

Stiler: My avatar ...

Skreczi: @Stilter - Your avatar looks like Raziel before he was killed by Kain from Blood Omen series ^_^

I was bored and looked up staring monkey.
Im not joking.
Well being a fan of all things horror chose to put in a nice Cthulhu avatar in, despite the fact that Cthulhu is a pretty minor character in Lovecraft's universe. Glad to see I'm not the only one here who apprciates Lovecraft's work.
My previous one was just a Silent Hill logo but that just got old quickly.
Every AvatarOfLight needs a HolyShock Avatar
Nuff said
I am currently playing through the Original Doom Games, and wanted a new avatar so Yeah

That comic is properly XD
Mine is one from my extensive collection of Troll pictures I've drawn. I'm not kidding when I say he is a character I've developed, and have been using as a handle for a long time.
I like Star Wars.
I like military sci-fi.
The clone troopers in the prequels pretty much filled both those needs. The clone trooper in my avatar is designated "Alpha." It seemed a natural progression.

it is me in a lab coat.
Groove Champion (played by "Everett Mann)
The middle Champion child, after the murder of his sister Jade by Antonio Makochio, Groove reluctantly accepts the responsibility of the auto-vigilante lifestyle, takes the CB handle of "Swinger" and drives with Taurus to fight against Malochio's goons. He inherits his sister's 1971 Picard Piranha at the start of the game.
