excalibunny: More accessible for me is streamling which usually mean dumbed down for the masses.
anjohl: Again, meh. I have no interest in custom maps, mods, and all that other jazz. CivRev had the essence of Civ in a much easier to digest package. I would love to see Creative Assembly try some Total War console ports in the same fashion.
The problem here is that there are butt loads of games out their for people not inclined to think while gaming but developers continue to take complex games and mess them up for the games fan base. I see no reason for this because there are SO many simple games out there why mess with the fans? I know you're going to reply money but they've tried this over and over with x com and they blew it every time. After Terror from the deep the game became streamlined until it was unrecognizable.
same goes for Splinter Cell. Did it need to become another action game? Does ever game out there have to be an action game? Can't games with complexity exist among pick up and play games?

cw8: That's you though. Quite a number of people like complexity, that's y Paradox's wargames are so popular.
If CA doesn't remove any existing features and adds in additional gameplay features then go ahead.
Yep, I own Victoria 2 and Crusader Kings 2 and love them. They've found an untapped audience of people who want thought provoking gameplay. The issue a lot of devs are having is that they are all fighting over the same audience when there are other groups of people to explore.
Crassmaster: I can never figure out where the concept of snobbish PC asshats comes from...
I'm not trying to be snobish at all.
Let me ask you a question. What is your favorite video game?
