hedwards: I don't like this. AFAICT, this game can't run in DOSBox as the game itself is now effectively a Windows game. I hope this is just a one off for GOG as I really don't relish the future where even the DOS games here can't be made to run in DOSBox without a lot of hassles.
GOG has nothing to do with this, inXile made this version themselves.

They approved it. They don't have to approve games just because the publishers send them over.

We've seen this in the past where GOG lowered their standards for one title and then did it for other titles. Given the Linux bashing that we've had from them in the past, if doing it this way is more convenient for GOG, we might see more games like this. Especially if the publisher is providing them in this format.
Really? Complaining that the developer took the time to enhance and port the game to modern operating systems? Wow.

Just send inXile a message by pirating the original DOS version. That'll show 'em!

They could have accomplished this without making the game only work in Windows. They could also have made it clear in the account page that redeeming on GOG would result in not getting the Linux version.

There's no need to be a jerk about it.
Finally made it back home and what a wonderful sight and on GOG no less with all the extras you expect to have. Now I just have to make time to play the game before W2 comes out.

Thanks inxile team.

rrr8891: fuck all of you.
Your initial post got buried it appears, im not a Mac user so I cant help directly and your following attitude trying to highlight your issue does not help and finishing it off with the above quote probly put the nail in the coffin in this topic.

Id suggest a support ticket.

rrr8891: Anyone else having trouble running the Mac version of W1? I keep getting a message saying it'll only run on 10.8 or newer, even though the game card says 10.6.8 or newer is sufficient.
We rolled out a new version that should run on Mac 10.6 and up. Did you download the most recent version? Can you try re-downloading?

The Linux version isn't rolled out yet, but once it is it shouldn't be too much hassle to get you a copy of it, just contact our support at that time.

I just replied to him.

Honestly I'm not sure if we made the 10.6 version live yet. If not, it should be up soon. The first version we put up here supported 10.8 and up, the store listing on that one was wrong.

Awesome, good to see you're on the ball. mate (even if rrr8891 did decide to be a bit of a dick about it.)
been a long time (nearly 2 weeks) since i have looked at the wasteland 2 progress.

Didnt find much except: “Finally fixed a pesky save game bug…the beta progresses well so fear not. You’re going to have some fun! #wasteland2 #patience”

Haven't found any info on a potential release of the beta to all eligible backers but its good to see they are fixing things before they do release to full beta.

the thing is, a beta is supposed to have bugs....so not sure why they are taking so long
