Featuring developer commentary!

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, a dark RPG adventure set in the world of The Witcher, is coming out October 23rd on PC, exclusively via GOG.COM.

Today, developers CD PROJEKT RED released a brand new video showcasing a 37-minute long walkthrough from the game's first act. There's a healthy amount of story, exploration, and turn-based card battle combat for you to enjoy, all with commentary by Paweł Burza (Community Manager), who provides valuable insight into the world of Thronebreaker.

You need to go to the actual news item.

groze: "A bit more than usual" is kind of euphemistic, whenever I checkout while buying a game there's that banner telling me to buy Thronebreaker. It's intrusive and annoying. Plus, I assume the people who are interested in the game already look for 37 minute gameplay videos on Youtube, what's the point in making an official news thread about it?

I know GOG is directly involved with Gwent -- and, supposedly, Thronebreaker --, and they're proud of their product, it's only natural that they advertise it, since they have the means for it. But when it becomes annoying and intrusive, I think some toning down is advisable. Stellaris is not my kind of game but I was never told to go buy it every time I bought any other game on GOG.
And every time I install a game I get adverts for half a dozen games, that's intrusive too, what's the difference?

Not necessarily, I'm interested in the game in passing, but not enough to go out and look for videos. I've watched a bit of this one to see what the battles look like (and how they differ to Gwent in it's current form, though it's been a while since I've played so it's changed a bit).

And Stellaris isn't made by GOG. It is a first party product so it's bound to be more heavily advertised then anything else they sell.

groze: Guys, come on, the more you force this on us, the more tired of it we get... the game isn't even out and I can't see another banner telling me to buy it already. Enough is enough.

I'm happy for those who actually like and support Gwent, since they've been promised a proper stand-alone single-player experience and they're finally getting it, but those of us who couldn't care less about Gwent are getting really annoyed by this.

I don't usually come into news threads just to complain, but it reached a point where I actually can't take it anymore. I love GOG, but stop trying to get us to buy a game we don't care about.
What would you have them do? Not publicise their own product? Get real!
Well, I really like Thronebreaker style and gameplay. But there is one thing that bothers me: system requirements. They are quite high for a game with sprites and one-screen 3D battlefield. Is it Unity engine again or this game's optimization isn't that good at the moment? Or they just higher than real system requirements as in sometimes happen with games?
Ahem.. no link in the OP? Fail.

It´s UnityEngine once again. And you should take into account that EVERY card can be a 3D-card. (like in multiplayer Gwent)
Just take a look at some Homecoming-PTR-Footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UX1MAccGo3Q
Quite awesome that it runs at stable 60FPS in UHD on a GTX 1080, isn´t it?

Ouch!

Wait, so Gwent will also have this high system requirements that will reduce its player base? :(

Yay, telemetry .

How is that possible, is this not the fabled offline Gwent?

In general, don´t waste time with system requirements and head for benchmarks instead. Why?
Well, a game like PUBG got higher and game like Fortnite or Overwatch do have lower system requirments then gwent. Does this tell you anything? Not really: Playing Overwatch with an Intel HD 4400 is a real shitty experience. And yes, you can run Gwent with an HD 4400 as well. Only difference: CDP didn´t want to include real shitty experience into minimum requirments...

I hope that´s enough. Wait for the final game to make your final judgement. But, as I´ve already said: 2160p60 on GTX 1080. That´s some good performance for such awesome graphics.
Few ill watch a 37 minute video of gameplay.
Hey, guys, the way you sell a game is release a short demo which you can actually play....
God, the company that made the game is a major video distriubter of Disney products in Eastern Europe, you think they would have picked sme idea of how to marker from that association...
I hated Gwent in Witcher 3. I hate all of these blasted card games. I'm really tired of seeing this.
