ElPixelIlustre: Oh well, I've never finished any HoMM campaign, I always play hotseat. And I honestly think HoMMV hotseat sucks big.

I never tried hotseat on any of them, only single-player. That might be the difference.
HoMM 3 campaigns are quite nice, actually. Well worth playing, even if a few of them are way too difficult.
I have to agree that HMM3 was the best in the series.
The 3D effects in HMM4 and the real 3D in HMM5 are nice - but the gameplay is just not fun.
HMM3 was very balanced, plus making maps was a piece of cake.
Did you guys place HMM3:WOG? It's a really nice mod.

Bridge Commander.
That game has so much potential and was seriously modded.
In fact a group of modders are making a new game (Startrek Excalibur), that takes the best bits of BC into a new graphics engine. And for Elite Force fans adds FPS elements too!
Birthright : The Gorgon's Alliance.
Total War comes closest I guess, but they lack the economic (and of course magic) aspects of the empire building, and of course the ability to go off on an adventure and fund your kingdom through stolen cutlery. Simply modernising the graphics would be enough for me. And fixing the buggy adventure mode now I come to think of it.

I agree as well. I liked HoMM 5, though. Never played HoMM 4. ;-)

Not yet. Too many games, too little time, and GOG only made it harder on myself - the backlog keeps getting bigger. ;-)
Shadow Warrior, I still play the game to this date. I just hope, if they did remake the game, they could keep the humor in there. That was on of the best parts of the game.

Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe
It had an amazing campaign and would be a great modern remake. Leave the game mechanics exactly the same, just pretty it up and add multilayer . Damn it would rule.
In need of a sequel:
Master of Orion II (MOO3 just didn't cut it, sorry)
Alpha Centauri (Loved it more than Civ)
Star Control II (SC3 just didn't cut it, sorry)
Wing Commander (Cheesy live action and all)
Populous: The Beginning (3d terrain deforming godhood!)
Phantasy Star (The original RPG series, NOT the online garbage)
And of course, A NEW TEX MURPHY ADVENTURE!!!
Thanks GOG, I have all the original games already, but Chris Jones deserves some bank in his pocket. I'm so glad that they got the rights back to the series and you folks gave it a good home.
I'm voting for Outcast, Daggerfall, I-War. Nicer graphic, compatybili with modern OS-es. It's all I need :-).
For me i'd like remake of the following (in order)
x-com enemy unknown/ufo defense
x-com terror from the deep
Those two can be exact replicas in modern graphics.
outcast
syndicate
dungeon keeper
carmageddon
quarantine
No one seems to have mentioned OMF (One Must Fall): 2097 which is one of my favorite fighting games. Stunts has been mentioned but I'm not sure how well that would work, a lot of modern games have vehicles with exaggerated physics allowing one to do jumps and tricks. I'm not sure that a new games would be as amazing as the original or as fun. Tyrian has gotten a mention but deserves another as does Descent and Wing Commander (Privateer). I always try to get Privateer 2 working when I have a new system but when I get it going I always have joystick calibration issues that make it unplayable, and the enemy AI seems retarded in retrospect.
- OMF: 2097
- Stunts
- Tyrian
- Descent
- Privateer 2
Blast Corps! This game is awesome, and it would be even more awesome with today's technology.
System Shock 1 could use an engine remake. Keep the story as is in the original game, just give it a huge graphics update.
The Wonder Boy Games and Terminator 2 Judgement Day

I'm not suggesting it was perfect, but I assume you are aware that Digital Extremes, the original creators of One Must Fall and OMF:2097, actually created OMF: Battlegrounds in 2004?
It was a reasonably modernisation of the game into 3D... but I agree, a remake of the original is in order.
