Another game that needs a remake is Deuteros. What's more is, it's getting one.
This is more or less a shameless plug for my own remake project. There isn't really any info on it yet, as we're still in the planning phase, but if anyone would like to (and have useful skills in that department) help make this great old game come back to life, head over to deuterosx.org, and let us know. Be warned that work is not progressing all that fast at the moment, so don't expect too much. Still, we're trying to get the project off the ground, so we could use some more Deuteros fans with technical skills.
Blake Stone!!!! Gameplay ideas for an FPS here are unending.
Mystical Ninja (N64). That game's absurdity would be a nice and refreshing change from today's monotonous brown and gray shooters.

I... can help play it when you finish. Does that help?

It does... But not right now ;-)
Well hurry the hell up so I can help damnit! You could at least put up a pointlessly teasing countdown clock that leads to nothing more than a vague bit of information and another countdown clock
Works for the japanese game industry

But not for me. Just don't hold your breath for the next year or so.
Abes odyssey, great game i once owned for the Ps1. It was huge and beautiful. It needs a remake in next-gen graphics. Also none of that oddworld: stranger stuff'!
Just Abe and a lot of people to free.

I remember that game. It was one of the most delightfully ridiculous games I've ever played, but it also had pretty solid action backing it up.
To this day, though, I still don't know if that laugh track indicated something lost in translation, or if it was deliberately placed so nonsensically just to be even more crackball than it already was.

I've probably mentioned this here before but Paradroid.
One of the coolest games ever made and if they could do a modern, possibly diablo style isometric perspective with randomly generated ship layouts and give it an actual ending but leave the core gameplay intact (keyboard folr movement, mouse for shooting would be perfect), it could be one of the greatest remakes of all time

Weclock: Daggerfall, but it has to be only a graphics update.

Since Daggerfall's been freely released by Bethesda, someone has been trying to remake the game engine for modern systems. If you're interested, take a look at DaggerXL
DaggerXL is a Daggerfall Engine Recreation for Modern Operating Systems and hardware. It is just in the beginning stages of development but will ultimately fully emulate the game of Daggerfall and then optionally enhance it by refining existing features and adding new gameplay elements that were originally intended. The enhancements will include things like being able to dock your ship in a town with docks, sailing your ship, proper shape changing spells, being able to store items in your house (in the furniture) and more. The game will make use of hardware acceleration providing higher resolutions, color depth, greatly improved visibility, better texture filtering, enhanced performance and more. In addition, like my current project DarkXL is working towards – there will be greatly improved modding and editing support.

Turrican. Badly overdue a remake/sequel. One of the best soundtracks of the 8/16-bit era.

Have you tried this? ;-p
I'd like to see Archon, brought into a 3D board, with a third person shooter set up for the battle scenes.

I was aware of that but its a freeware effort. I was thinking about a full glitzy Gears style freemake. There are plenty of games like Turrican out there especially indies but its not what I am looking for. It also needs a new soundtrack by Chris Hulesbeck ;)
