Mwahaha, another person gets sucked into the vortex of peace and love that is the GOG General forum (well mostly peace and love - this is Earth 2014 afterall ;-p).

Welcome and might I also say that hosting GA's in and of themselves are pretty addictive (as if the forum wasn't addictive enough).

I've been haunting the forum since February 2013 - yup 664 days (yikes - I got the dreaded 666 days coming up!) and it's rare that I miss many days where I don't check in to see what shenanigans my fellow Goglodytes are up to. In my time, I've gifted well over 600 games and hosted numerous GA's - albeit fewer lately. In some GA's, other Goglodytes tried to see if they could cure me of my GA addiction by donating as many games as they could find as additions. I think they were trying to kill me, possibly - yeah, good times, my friend, good times.

There was a period of fear and loathing on the campaign trail - those were some dark days - but we have mostly recovered with some improvements like MAHAYO and TBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBOB and generally working hard to drive out scammers and leechers. It hasn't been ALL fun and game GA's but in the main it has always been a place where one can share a bit of themselves and find plenty of support and friends.

So yeah, this forum is amazing (too bad GOG saw fit to exclude the French but hey, they smoke Gauloise's and that used to totally stink up the place ;-p) . Seriously, I jest - I was not happy to see any divisive branches off the forum. French peeps come back! We'll put up with the stinky cigarettes! I swear to never say another word!

I am happy to meet you, Momo! Now that is some (hi)story! True, I believe I am getting sucked into this vortex and it makes me happy :P Since it's my first giveaway, we shall see in near future just how addictive it can get (the more, the better!).

I have just found out, what MAHAYO means. Pretty inspirational, sounds like a solid principal. Haven't figured out what TBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBOB is... But I'm sure I could get some help understanding. And so many "B's"? o_O Both crazy and hilarious!

By the way, how did the name/title "Goglodyte" was born? It sounds awesome!

Well MAHAYO was my personal invention born of sheer and utter frustration with the dark times on the forum - it just kind of sprung to life one evening - dunno, guess sometimes I have good ideas. Sometimes ;-p

TBBBBOB was an invention of Sachys and Foxworks - they tried to drag me into their evil scheming during the inception but my only contribution was a B to the name ;-p Basically it is a place where Goglodytes can donate their extra keys and know that they will find good homes. The rules make sure entrants are good GOG forum citizens and not just here for some free swag. btw, it is also know as BONZA.

As to Goglodyte - dunno - it was around before I got here. If you ever see a five star, they might know. But five-stars are as scarce as hens teeth and especially over the past year. I haven't see one around in a really long time. Though JMich might know or wpegg or even Judas (who was a Goglodyte but became a blue).
