S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, SiN Gold, Luftrausers, and more shooty titles up to 80% off!

Pistols, machine guns, rifles, cannons, lasers... most of the time they turn out to be the best means of negotiating safe passage through a swarm of aliens, a horde of zombies, or waves of killer robots dead set on exterminating you. You're about to scratch that itch on your trigger finger. This weekend we give you 20+ games that go "pew! pew!" So take a look at some of the titles from this weekend's promo lineup , ranging from old-school FPS classics, to delirious action-arcade gems.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, the fitting conclusion to the acclaimed series, delivers one of the most immersive and enthralling experiences in the history of first-person shooters, with heavy focus on stealth and exploration. SiN Gold, a true FPS hallmark that was overlooked at launch mostly due to performance issues, is your "shoot first, ask questions later" title, lauded for exceptional level design and smooth mechanics. If you're looking for some indie, over-the-top fun you can't go wrong with Tower of Guns, a roguelike love letter to the insane shooters of the past, full of robotic fiends and evolving guns. Not a fan of the FPS genre? Make sure to check out Luftrausers, a stylish monochrome retro shoot-em up with loads of unlockable weapons and mechanical parts that change the way your aircraft handles.

There is plenty more deeply discounted sure shots in the lineup so head over to the promo page and see for yourself! The offer lasts until Tuesday, September 23, at 3:59 AM GMT!
Nice promo, got two games this time. My wishlist is shrinking yay!

IAmSinistar: Man, what a great promo. I have virtually every title in it already, but it's damn tempting to pick up a complete S.T.A.L.K.E.R. set for gifting at that price.

tinyE: How does Symphony work? Do I need a loaded MP3 player hooked up or do I just slide in a cd?
avatar
IAmSinistar: There is a menu in the game where you can point at any accessible directory containing MP3 files and it will give a list of which one you want to play the next level to. Since I keep my collection on my data drive it was easy to queue up tunes for playing against. Once you've selected the song the game does an analysis of it (length, tempo, volume spikes) and programs the attack waves to suit it.

I played about half the game against classical music, and half again industrial/electronica/EBM. It's a fun and clever game, certainly worth the asking price.
I need to try this. XD I like to keep a mix of Slayer and Peter Paul & Mary on hand. Let's see if I can make the game commit suicide! :D

gandalfnho: Guess those who lost the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series release promo will be happy today.
How deep was the discount on the stalker release? 75%?

You may actually find PP&M kicking your ass. I had a Hocico track that was pretty easy to get through, but a Blancmange track that whaled the tar out of me. :D

I think it was 70% off. I missed the promotion back then too, so I think it's time I pull the trigger.
I could just buy Luftrausers, but has it been improved into a more complex game?

PaterAlf: Hoped that games wouldn't be regional priced during promos, but Luftrausers destroyed that hope. :(

Might pick up Tower of Guns instead.
And for a petty $0.60, at a time when it's sold in a bundle, along with its soundtrack.

But hey, if 10 people buy it they'll make $6, that's like having sold two more copies. ;-P

Hadn't even noticed it, as the only games I'm eyeing are the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. ones, but since I must restrain myself from spending money on games, I only took a glance at the promo page. ;-)
How are the Luftrausers and Aqua Kitty games? Do they work with an Xbox 360 controller? Any windowed mode?

Daliz: Chaos Engine is on my "waiting for Linux version to appear on GOG" list so won't buy that yet.

I think I'll buy SiN.. I haven't played a mindless shooter in a while :P
SiN isn't a mindless shooter (at least, not like Serious Sam or the old Doom/Heretic titles), at least one area is necessary a bit of stealth and in other to acess some computers

Interesting, so it was the highest so far.

IronArcturus: How are the Luftrausers and Aqua Kitty games? Do they work with an Xbox 360 controller? Any windowed mode?
IMO they're both excellent games and yes, they each have windowed modes and can be played with the X360 controller.

Interesting! Have you tried the first Alien Shooter game? How does it compare to the sequel?

GOG.com: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, the fitting conclusion to the acclaimed series,
Pedantic note: not actually the conclusion to the series.
avatar
Random_Coffee: I'm currently playing the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R and I find it very excellent. Considering buying Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat. Are they as good as the first?
Clear Sky is worth playing - though the weakest of the series and best left until last due to some psoilers it contains.

Call of Pripyat is probably an equally good game to SoC (some would say better), but plays a little differently due to the size of the areas and additional game mechanics. Worth buying at this price for definate!

Am i missing something with Lauft (whatever)? There is no way to fire using the game pad not that it matters because there is no way to exit the game either, or change any of the settings. Of course there is no manual so maybe that doesn't matter. XD
Postal 2 = very fun if you can stand it.
