Bookwyrm627: Take a look at the game up until Post 79, and then tell me how much suspicion I was under to that point.
If you recall, I already made the argument about you not being under heat already, so there isn't much point in throwing the same thing back at me. As for why would you blah blah - isn't that the whole point of the WIFOM concept?

Anyway, I'm not saying I believe this is the more likely scenario, just considering it as a possibility, despite of how remote it may seem. As someone who would like any and all angles to be considered when looking at one's play, I'd say you have to agree that the less likely but possible ones shouldn't be cast aside either.

Fair enough.
avatar
dedoporno: All seems to be good with my connectivity.

avatar
Lifthrasil: Obviously. Stating redeeming values would be your job. If you are town, you should know what you are doing and why you are doing it. And then it would be nice if you try to explain it.
avatar
dedoporno: Explaining it might actually ruin the plan in some situations, but I think it should be somewhat clear what the idea is and it did feel like Wyrm was telegraphing it intentionally, so if that was is case there isn't much point of all the secrecy. But as HSL stated in his last post - there might be different interpretations and mine may be wrong.

That aside, I liked the statement about listing the redeeming values being the actor's responsibility. That does make sense and that's part of the reason why I'm not saying anything about what I think it is. Especially in the context of the plan itself. It either has to come out from Wyrm himself or it's kept a secret until the time to reveal it comes.

avatar
Lifthrasil: Exactly. That was supposed to be the point. I read Bookwyrm's statement that the CL would be in deep trouble if he tried to convert him as a soft-claim of some unknown PR. Which doesn't make sense.
avatar
dedoporno: That was the point? Then I probably read it wrong since it seemed to me that you were presenting it as if there was something out of the known possibilities to explain Wyrm's behavior. I guess I was wrong.

avatar
Bookwyrm627: Namely, if I'm the CL, then why would I want to push town into getting to work? Posting enough to appear present and involved, without actually committing on anything, would be a brilliant way to not get caught. Why gamble when a much more sure way to the same goal is already in motion?
avatar
dedoporno: Because WIFOM, maybe? Also, you're known to make risky and even outrageous plays, I'd say it's kind of expected from you at this point, so if you were just playing along, having nice conversations and doing nothing interesting you'd probably appear more suspicious than not.

avatar
trentonlf: We have a deadline, but we also have a weekend and that means activity drops like crazy. A last minute lynch does nothing to help town so let’s put bookwyrm’s plan into action and vote so we can see where we all stand.
avatar
dedoporno: The only real difference between acting now and near the deadline is that we'll probably have more time to react to whatever claim might come out of it. Is that the goal here? To get an official claim to get things going?

avatar
HypersomniacLive: Asides from this, would you say that she seems involved and scum-hunting?
Though she muddied the waters with her request to be replaced.
avatar
dedoporno: I wouldn't call it scum-hunting in the commonly accepted way, but that doesn't automatically mean Sage is scum. She tends to take notes and stuff, then list aggregated info every now and then and latch on something there, especially if other picked up on it. Therefore that wouldn't be among the top reasons for suspecting her. Unless, of course, one is going after the less active players intentionally.

Getting a replacement is a bummer, though. I like playing with Sage and aside from that, the change will probably negate any potential reads.

avatar
HypersomniacLive: On an unrelated note - what part of Greece are you visiting, if I may ask?
avatar
dedoporno: Halkidiki, Kassandra to be more specific. The resort we're staying at is just after Kriopigi.
I don’t want a claim from anyone, I want us to work together to figure out who is the most likely option to be CL and lynch them. The more time we have to do that the better.

Or we can sit around twidling our thumbs for now and then rushing a lynch at the last moment because that’s what we love to do.
avatar
flubbucket: My initial thoughts are for WIFOM.

I can let my mind wander and get a little paranoia brewing.

For instance, collating for The Greater Good tallies and seeing how each player stacks up.

Lifthrasil is in six of eight
Hunter is in four of eight
Bookwyrm is in all
Sage makes three misses one then makes three more
and so on etc....

You then compare these to Day Two, Day Three.....

But that seems crazy right??
avatar
Hunter65536: Didn't get that, could you elaborate?

.............
Take each of The Greater Good role calls and check them against each other seeing which players were on or off or missed or whatever other anomaly might popup.

Seems a futile exercise.....or too much work for the payoff.
avatar
Bookwyrm627: ............

I've checked over Sage and Flub's posting, and neither has posted more than a line of anything substantial. Hunter has at least posted about having bad feelings on two particular players, even if it isn't backed by anything.
BULLSHIT!!!!

I haven't posted anything substantial.
avatar
JMich: Sage has asked Krypsyn for a replacement. I'll be looking for one. Deadline may or may not be affected by that.
Dammit

Unvote: Sage103082

flubbucket: Do you think I'll be a cultist Day Two??

Bourbon fixes everything.

I'm applying liberally at this very moment and having to spell check every other word.

Regarding self recruitment..........that's quite personal you perv!

I'm aware of this, hence I also put involvement in the equation, and actual involvement. with a question here and there, is missing. Doesn't make her scum by definition, but I've made a note of it as it's not doing her any favours either. And no way to poke into it now.

Nice choice, have a lovely time.
And next time, you may want to try Sithonia; quite different and more beautiful than Kassandra, imo.

Post 143 is moderately coherent, and the closest to substantial he's gotten.

Posts 78 and 105 get kind of near coherency, but there's a phrase about close, horseshoes, and hand grenades.

This is a call back to Post 152, and this notes how Hunter has done a bare minimum to differentiate himself from the pack listed in that previous post. This doesn't go nearly far enough, but it is a start.
As of now, mchack replaces Sage103082.
Deadline may be extended a bit, depends on how you all go about voting.
For the Greater Good.
For the Greater Good, I Reverend Philip Shooter had a sex change and am now back to Sandford :)
We need to get this Dissident in our Ranks rooted out, so we can get on with our preparations to win village of the year again.

Ahh, I'm glad to be back with you all, so who do we lynch?
avatar
HypersomniacLive: Does this mean that you believe him?
Not really. Still think that reads more like a rather weak reach than anything else. It is possible I actually read it wrong, of course, but so far it doesn't feel like it. Either way, I believe that particular line of questioning has been drained.

avatar
HypersomniacLive: And next time, you may want to try Sithonia; quite different and more beautiful than Kassandra, imo.
I've been there, it's very nice indeed. We're going to Kassandra mostly because it's the closest destination of the three lanes of Halkidiki.

trentonlf: I don’t want a claim from anyone, I want us to work together to figure out who is the most likely option to be CL and lynch them. The more time we have to do that the better.
Isn't that what we or at least most of us are trying to do? Almost everyone is pushing towards someone for whatever reason. Voting aggressively will only result in an earlier claim on D1, which yes, gives us something more substantial to work with, but then again you say that's not your goal. I'm on board with working together, but can you provide some example on what you would like us as a group to do that doesn't have work towards a claim?

As for the claiming, I wouldn't know what claiming anything would help anyone anyhow (at least on day1)?
-claiming townie and being believed will only count for this exact day anyway next day it could be a filthy cultist nonetheless.
-claiming inquisitor and being believed will give you a high chance of getting turned (and with having nothing to report would be silly on day 1) and since we won't know the next round if he's been turned we can't believe anything he says then anyway
-unless he's protected (which we would only know if an alarmist claims which is plain silly since he'll be turned for sure afterwards since he can't self protect)
-claiming cl would be quite pro town but a bit silly, too ;)

So day one claiming not good.
Day two claiming only if the inquisitor found the cult leader he could claim and we could test it by lynching his read and if wrong simply lynch him, too. But the next day he'll be quite useless without an alarmist claiming which we would have to lynch afterwards since he's a sure turn then without any protection so that would be quite a loss which I'm not sure would be worth it.

So without having thought out all the possibillities claiming anything at least in day one and without a successful scumread even day two sounds quite anti-NWA

trentonlf: You keep casting shade with the “Trent is over eager again”. So if I find something I don’t like and cast my vote to represent that I’m over eager? What should I do then sit on my vote and do nothing but twiddle my thumbs? My vote is the most powerful tool I have and not using it is rather pointless.

Let’s see what this does for you

Unvote Sage
Vote Lift
Ooooh, someone is getting touchy. Did my observation hit too close to home? Are you actually the CL? I like it how you try to present the observation that you are very quick with a vote as 'casting shadow'.

@HSL: yes, I saw one possible town motivation for Bookwyrm's play: stirring up things to get discussions moving. But I do not see whatever it is that you and dedo seem to be seeing. I don't understand how his putting himself in an exposed spot is supposed to protect him from a conversion for the first two nights.

avatar
Bookwyrm627: Why would I pick the route that forecasts more danger for less reward? WIFOM only gets you so far.
Yes, but WIFOM plus your known tendency for brash plays could actually work out to give you a free pass for a few nights. Everything a CL needs to win. So your 'hey, I put myself in an exposes spot so I CAN'T be the CL' argument doesn't cut it. I totally could see you trying such a play as CL. (and for the record: yes, I also can see you trying such a play as town)
