PenguinJim: While others have pointed out why your idea simply wouldn't and couldn't possibly ever work, I'll just come up with a more positive counter-suggestion: GOG could partner with Microsoft to port these games to the Xbox One.

Fixed hardware would assist with the porting process, the OS isn't particularly foreign, the hardware is PC hardware. Pad support would be limited to the Xbox One controller, but USB keyboards and mice could work, in theory.

The GOG Selection on Xbox One.

Of course, it would be a bit like 2008 all over again, as games get ported across a couple at a time!
Another cute reply.
Very funny SonnyJim ... I mean ThePenguin.

No-one pointed out anything. They just gave their view, based on the limits of their understanding.
I have countered all the mentioned obstacles ... and considered them all before my first post.
If you thought my idea was ludicrous, your Xbox one isn't even on the same planet as us.
If you are gonna poo poo my idea, at least give something of merit.

Over & Out,

RWarehall: I noticed this item isn't discounted while the rest of the series is...

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee

Is this tomorrow's special thing? A free game?
Well done, you guessed correctly. :)

Thanks a lot for the freebie GOG and Oddworld Inhabitants!

Ixamyakxim: Are new games being added / have they been added? I couldn't quite tell but it seems like there are less than 200 (or whatever the number was).

wanderer_27: They said there are no plans too . . . slight chance Friday, but not really planned as of yesterday.
Thanks! I miss the "big" Fall sale but I guess it is a bit much falling right in between the Summer and Winter ones. I ended up with a sweet little minihaul from last week's sale so I really can't complain LOL.
Abe's Odyssey gift code for already owners of the game will expire on October 21, 2018.

EDIT: Added year to date.

Not really my cup of tea, but thanks anyway GOG!
Thanks a lot for Abe, GOG.
I should have expected this after another user "cracked" yesterday's mysterious message. This kind of game is just not my cup of tea... Good for those who are interested in playing it, I guess.
And so it is Abe's Oddyssee, as seemed quite oddvious. I'm sure more people would have felt that they came away with something if it was rather Munch's Oddyssee. But hey, anyone who complains about something being for free is quite the spoilt brat, methinks. I too have had this game for some time, which means that I'll probably get a code for it if I redeem it, but I'm wondering if that would even be worthwhile as gog codes are usually time-limited these days.

GOG.com: This is important, too: everyone who drops by GOG.com this Tuesday will come away with an absolutely, definitely, positively special something! If that sounds a bit odd, you'll just have to come and see.
Sorry GOG, but as much as I love you, and I truly do, it was poor form to say - EVERYONE who drops by ....... will come away with an absolutely, definitely, positively special something!

You kept us coming back time and time today, for what?

Severely disappointed .... especially as I bought the game on sale here in the last few months.

I've currently got the 'Tasty' version in my basket ... don't suppose you can do us a better deal on that or the DLC.

Just to be clear, that'd be 2018.

Thanks GOG and the publisher! I was hoping for some interesting new releases, but a free game is of course nice.

Suggestion: lower the base price of the games to be equal to Steam (or bundle them). Currently I believe the two original Oddworld games are twice as much here as on Steam.

baalim: In that case, I'm sorry to say that it would be quite underwhelming.

Leroux: Rule of thumb for dealing with GOG's marketing speech: The more excitement it tries to create, the more underwhelming the actual surprise usually is. ;)
Yeah, we old timers should know (and I think most of us do) not to get our hopes up (depending on what our hopes are of course).

Part of that depends how high a pedestal one puts GOG or how important GOG or gaming is in one's life. A few years back, the only thing that gave me a dopamine rush was GOG releases and being involved with GOG, so I did a bit of whining when we went through a classics' drought circa 2013-2014-ish I think. Find something more important to look forward to or be involved with, and perhaps GOG over-hype won't seem like such a big deal.
Gog plz put some Elder Scrolls titles on sale again
I must say I imagined something more tailored for various players/ more options as to what game to choose, since today was proclaimed as a day that there will positively be something for every of us.

Otherwise, Oddworld is a great game, which I own already, but freebie is always nice :)
