I was hoping for something along the lines of "Tomb Raider reboot release to coincide with the release of the movie trailer." Oh, well, beggars can't be choosers.
Honestly Gog,why bother giving these spoilt brats any freebie's as all they do is whing.I for one thank you for your generosity and it's not the gift but the thought behind it.

All that hype just for a 20 year old game made free for a short time?

Fuck off, GOG.
Hey, a freebie I don't already own! Nice. Thanks, GOG. :)

Not sure I'd consider two lines in the OP 'all that hype'.

Breja: I hate to complain about a free game, but you really should not have tried to hype this as something so special.
I don't think that's quite what they were talking about. It was a very vague statement tho, so who knows.

I consider "This is important, too: everyone who drops by GOG.com this Tuesday will come away with an absolutely, definitely, positively special something! If that sounds a bit odd, you'll just have to come and see." to be hype worthy. Of course, owners of the game will have nothing left to walk away with, so that's misleading...
Thanks for the free game, GOG. I already own it but I'll pass the code along to someone who doesn't.

What the fuck did you expect ? Free Witcher 3 Goty ? Or free Skyrim Goty ?
Remember when Good Old GOG gave away games routinely without making a fuss about it? Pepperidge Farm remembers. So do Gognards.

Remember when Good Old GOG didn't resort to hype and stupid bait and switch marketing stunts in order to get our attention? Pepperidge Farm remembers. So do Gognards.

Remember when Good Old GOG didn't systematically underestimate their intended audience and instead worked hard to deserve their goodwill? Pepperidge Farm remembers. So do gognards.

That's kind of how GOG operates, unfortunately. If they hype something up at all, it's almost never worth it. Anything actually big or exciting tends to happen out of nowhere.
I can't help but notice that Xenonauts was actually 1 euro cheaper on the Humble Store a while back and it's marked as 'historically low'.
I suppose that's not a 'reputable store' according to GOG.

masayersuk: This would be a whole lot easier to navigate the sale if you hadn't broken the 'show discounted' option on wishlists.

Marioface5: It's working fine for me. What's going wrong when you try to use it?
On the the wishlist itself under price there was an options that had all the price options under 5 etc there was also 'discounted' that option is completely missing on wishlists but 'discounted' is available for general browsing of the games.

It doesn't matter if I use the client or the webpage I can't filter on Price->Discounted which is something that did work up until recently. Whether they broke it for just some pleaces or for everyone is something I can't judge. I do know it doesnt work on my account in the UK

I'd like to note, that Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee is a true platform action gem. Its age is irrelevant.
The only negative point is that probably all the interested users in this game, already own it.

Anyway thanks GOG for the free gift code. It will be useful if anyone misses this promo.

Cannot reproduce this, I can filter my wishlist for discounted games just fine. You could ask the support...

Appreciate the effort. I wouldn't be surprised to find it was only the UK affected. This worked fine until the time they started this sale. I used it a couple of days ago without any problems.
