So it's Tuesday now, what's the special something? Or is it Tuesday American time or something?
@Danj - as far as I know, GOG's crew is usually referring to GMT +1/+2 timezone (depending if it's summer or winter period), so yeah, we've got magic tuesday now.

Where are my Bison Dollars, GOG? :(

Big mystery will be dropping Freelancer on us....I'm hoping it's Freelancer. Maybe the release of Half life 3!?!....We all have dreams
Noticed that "Record Low" banner on some of the games? Turns out it means "lowest price so far". But when I first saw it, I assumed it meant "Record low number of sales", and I wondered why GoG wanted to advertise that...
So, what is the big deal with Tuesday? After lunch?

MarkoH01: -So other than tomorrow's "something", again no change in the deals available all the way to the end?
-So this time the offers will stay for a week? Unchanged? :P
-EDIT: Does the wishlist notification only work for regular/individual sales? Not that I mind, just curious.

So while the last question is just a "out of curiosity" question the first and second are questions that are important regarding the sale and to be honest I am also not sure what the answer to those is. If I am looking at the front page it says "Weeklong Sales" without being a tab to chose so that would mean that ALL deals are weeklong and so there won't be any changes. However I am just guessing here and a quick statement on this would help people who are afraid that they might miss a deal.
avatar
elcook: Since this is not the usual weeklong sale, which gets updated on Fridays, the offer will remain like it is for the whole week. Although, you can never be sure if we won't add something for the weekend, but if we do we will let you all know about it ;)

Wishlist notifications should work for all sales. If it haven't worked for you this time we'd nee to investigate it.

avatar
MarkoH01: Please remove all those " record low " signs from the front page . Many of those games were already cheaper in elsewhere .

Even though in this case I am quite sure that in this case the record low price means that it is a record on GOG and not "elsewhere".
avatar
elcook: The record low is for all legit digital distribution services, i.e. we haven't taken marketplaces into account for that.

avatar
MarkoH01: While this may well be the case, they popped up while I was browsing the new sales. I can live with an occasional glitch, but such glitches wouldn't result in effective misinformation if two very simple things were done: (1) add a timer on the pages of discounted items to indicate when their discount expires, and (2) clearly identify the promotion(s) to which the game is associated. The latter is extremely important when different promotions result in different discounts -- such as when discounts scale with how many items you get from the specific promotion -- or when sales overlap. In UI design, this is known as "the principle of least astonishment".
avatar
elcook: The timer is always visible on the sale page, but the idea of adding one on game page is something I'll ask our dev team to look into. As for identifying the promotions, we are doing it in the newsposts and on the sale's pages. Frankly, it's one of the first times that I encounter that someone mixed the sales on GOG and missed some discounts. But yes, we can always improve some things. Thanks!
Actually I've had this issue more often. :p
I'd added Breach and Clear to my cart as it was on sale when this one started and then it went off sale. Would help if you just added something like offer x will expire soon on the cart page.
The surprise appears so mysterious so I doubt it would be games, especially older games, like those from EA...

I'm going to be so devastated.

everyone who drops by GOG.com this Tuesday will come away with an absolutely, definitely, positively special something
So, which Tuesday are they talking about? Today? And when does it start? At my place half Tuesday has passed. Many miracles have happened, but none related to this website. Question is: what timezone does GoG live in?

Waiting.... :)

It's a Cyberpunk 2077 pre-order! It's gotta be!
high rated
Someone noticed that odd announcement. The special thing will be Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee freebie. Look at the announcement again. That part is italic and the game is not on sale. Oddworld: Soulstorm marketing tactic.

Nice catch! I reckon you're most likely right.
Pity I own Abe's Oddysee already.
Oh well, Gifts ahoy!

Yeah, for that ONE SINGLE lucky winner of the draw.

Timboli: Everyone can pick any one game for free maybe.
That's about the only way EVERYONE can come away with something.
Or another would be free funds in your account.
Actually, there is another possibility, that I have been meaning to bring up for some time - GOG Console.

The GOG Console would support all GOG games out-of-the-box.
That would mean no more compatibility issues due to various PC hardware configurations.
Can be used with a Controller or Keyboard & Mouse or Joystick or all three.
And of course, great for using with your TV for that big screen experience.
And no more OS issues as it would have its own GOGOS.

P.S. If GOG ever realistically wanted to challenge Steam's monopoly, there could be no better way, than their own Console. Having something like that, they would be the killer platform, and give reason for Publishers and DEVs to sit back and take notice, and no longer see GOG and customers as second rate citizens. In fact, GOG would be doing what Microsoft should have done with their original Xbox.

P.S.S. I guess I should turn this into a popular separate topic. ;)

It depends. If the news post has been written by Hideo Kojima then it's probably something entirely different. Otherwise, I have to reckon that you may have spotted something there.

If it's that, nice gift from GOG / Oddworld inhabitants even if I already got it too (and finished it just a few weeks ago).
