Not my thing, even free, but thanks nonetheless.
I thought they may be releasing a new game, or a gog connect thing but they probably loading up for the fall/halloween sale. So this sale is good as just a big monthly sale. The free game was a bit underwhelming as a big surprise.

I hate to complain about a free game, but you really should not have tried to hype this as something so special. It's nice and all, but really no big deal. And as I already own and have played the New'n'tasty, I won't even be picking it up, I would never play it anyway.

Luned: A note of thanks for the sale organization this time: making home-page category tabs for "Under $2" and "-80% & More" is much appreciated!
This, without the under 2 dollar one I would have missed some deals. picked up a couple of cheapies that I would never have tried at regular price or even regular sale price. thanks

oh, and for those let down by all the hype, my take on it is that the person writing the sale page was trying to mimic the tone and madness of the freebie game Oddworld in their writing, not hypeing for hypesake if that makes sense. I notice that all sales pages are written with themes in mind, puns, clever word games etc. Most hit the mark and are amusing (errors aside or later clarifications)

vanchann: Abe's Odyssey gift code for already owners of the game will expire on October 21st.

plan99: Just to be clear, that'd be 2018.
Yes, you're right. I didn't pay attention to the year, since GOG tends to limit the valid period for such codes between one and two months.

I'll edit my post. I hope it's not a bug.

EDIT: Fixed. Thanks!

Thanks for the freebie: I'll give it a try. :)

And time to (almost) complete my collection of Wadjet Eye games with the Blackwell Bundle. So far I've enjoyed all of them.

Mr.Caine: This is what the hype was for? Laughable. This game was given away on steam 1 year ago and there was zero hoopla around that. Why? Because it was a 19 year old game that costs 2,99€ there. Well and also because Steam doesn't need cheap PR tricks like GOG consistently relies upon.
You could also buy it in past GOG sales for little more than 1€, or get it DRM-free in a cheap Groupees bundle. And it's been remade with HD graphics and controller support. I suspect that this is a game that's very low in demand - despite being a good game - because everyone interested in it should already own it by now, and I doubt GOG is still able to sell lots of copies of it, so giving it away for free as a promo won't cost them much. Which is fine - the real issue is with making people wait for it and get their hopes up for "something special" for "everyone".

Yeah, but there're exceptions. If you can remember, just check again around Oct 20th. I don't really think it's a bug because how many people are going to want that game within the next month compared to how many people have the code?
Absolutely great freebie game as promised -- thanks GOG! I own both GOG & PS versions, but i still haven't tried the PC version in favor of the PS one. Am i missing on something?
Thanks GOG will try it out when I've finished playing Oblivion:)

Thanks for giving away this true classic!
great game, but if this counts as the release today I cry foul.
Thanks for the Oddworld game. Any chance we can get a Bethesda sale soon? I own Fallout 3 on Steam, but forgot about it's horrible GFWL drm.

Blackwell is one of their best in my opinion; you'll definitely have a ton of fun playing it. ;)
ps: don't forget to buy Epiphany too if you haven't done already, since it is the *epic* conclusion of the story.
