I finished Death Rally.

It's not a very long game, it took me just above 4 hours to beat it. It was rather fun, admittedly annoying at times and without much variety. You go vroom, you do pew-pew, you buy and upgrade cars. There aren't many tracks, at large speed steering is very twitchy, bumping into anything is a bad idea. There's a boss/ultimate challenge at the end.

There were times when I gave up on my latest races (with my appalling performance or complete lack of it) and loaded saves. The boss required several attempts. Here's a progress gif from some random screenshots of ladder boards I took.

There seems to be a malfunction with my time machine and so I am still stuck in 1995. Depending on how long it will take to repair it, I will join you in 1996 and either play Duke Nukem 3D or Summer & Winter: Olympic Challenge.

I've been enjoying Toonstruck a lot, much more than I was expecting. I was expecting the humor to be awful but I've been pleasantly surprised. I think the fact that you're in a cartoon land does well to justify the zany antics and characters. The puzzles have been pretty good so far too. Unfortunately I think I've hit a bit of a wall. I need to find a new torture device for Marge and Polly which I believe will allow me to fix the broken clock but I've been wandering around for a while and cannot figure out what I've missed.
I began playing Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars (original, not remastered).

So far, so good. Nice graphics and decent humour.
The Settlers II are also from 1996 BTW.
Well, I went through with it after all and installed Fantasy General, and did the first scenario/battle of the campaign today. But turn limits are a very bad thing, so whether it'll keep me from getting too far, remains to be seen.
Atrocious mouse acceleration in Master of Orion 2 is to annoying, I'm not gonna play that.

I started a tutorial in Conquest of the New World for a couple of minutes. I did what any arrogant conqueror would do - I assumed that native people are belligerent and weak. It turned out they were neither and I got what I deserved. Further more, they are hostile now. I failed at tutorial in short several minutes, I think I'll just restart it...

Metal Slug is quite hard with all those slow downs, I had it for the Playstation and don't remember being this bad.
For the first try, with the help of some 10 credits final boss is down and the world saved! No need to thank me.

I was a little eager to play this game so I fired up Fighcade, instead of waiting for the GOG summer sale.

Regarding the heavy slow downs, Final Burn Neo wich Fightcade uses as a emulator core, have the option to adjust the emulated CPU speed, will try that and leave here the result for anyone interested.

Continuing with Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars.

After the first "episode" (Paris), which was surprisingly reasonable, the second one (Lochmarne) was anything but --- pixel hunting, timed puzzles, backtracking, and worst of all, tons of pointless flavour objects/text/dialogue/etc. I slogged through, but I hope it improves, because I'm beginning to tire.
Hi, I started playing 3 Skulls of the Toltecs, nice graphics but sadly nothing more. From the beginning you have the objective of finding the 3 Skulls and the world is open in all scenarios, so the subsequent surprise disappears. So you are solving puzzles because it is the only thing you can do without considering the purpose. Music, what music?

The most disappointing thing is that all this would be forgettable if the characters were memorable and funny, but the secondary ones are not remarkable and the humor, pse.

The puzzles are not easy in my opinion, but if you are used to the old p&c, you will progress in the game.

I no longer feel the need to waste my time with Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars. Abandoned.
Well that wraps up my playthru of Toonstruck. This game was a lot better than I was expecting. The voice talent was good. There were a couple weird pauses as if Christopher Lloyd forgot his line but they only had budget for one take and other places where the lines didn't quite line up with the animations. The puzzles were mostly pretty good with the exception of just a couple due to pixel hunting, a couple due to weird logic, and one due to lack of feedback. The plot was wild and zany as you would expect a from a cartoon you watched as a kid. Just a fun and funny game.
Well, the first island on Fantasy General was easy, but what a difficulty spike on the second. Don't even see why the loss screen appears, assume it's some fast unit getting around what's left of mine and capturing the starting town, but I'm getting utterly crushed anyway. Supposed to win in 16 turns, capturing multiple places, and with several more optional ones around that I assume are rather necessary if I'm to have half a chance later, since they bring rewards, but I keep losing after 4-5, and would most likely be wiped out in a couple more if that wouldn't happen.
I found I do can do stretch time but it's only stretching in subjective/relative reality, and time on the forum is ticking at its normal rate.

Therefore I will play only one game this time but thoroughly and to complete.

looks like it will fit in the schedule, and it is about time travel.

Thank You for running this "game of games" and for creating remarkable comments!
Ended in a final rush "3 Skulls of the Toltecs", solving puzzle after puzzle without an objective clear until i crashed with a wall (i couldn´t get the skull of the bank) so i looked a walkthrough, it was easy:

First i got stuck in the same point, hanging around the game for several days. I wrote a letter for the game magazine i used to look, to "S.O.S.ware section", i bought a stamp and send the letter. I waited one/two month looking if my post was elegible to print in the magazine, and buying it all months. And fortunatelly, they published it and tell me what i was failling. Spoiler: i had to kick with a wood to "Fray Gordo". :)

The end is quite quickly. After 7-8 hours, at least the map option to travel is a very good choice. In my opinion, not a recommended game. Good to finish it.

Edit: and the second game today too! In only two and a half hours i´ve finished it! It was a sudden movement, ciemnogrodzianin, you are free to add it to the list.

Ace Ventura

https://www.mobygames.com/game/ace-ventura

And i´ve finished too Ace Ventura (1996), an adventure game for kids with Ace Ventura: Pet Detective as a main character in his role (where will be he today? :) It´s a funny game, Ace does all kind of actions. I didn´t remember watch the film but i know about the role. Jim Carrey is not my kind of actor with his style but The Truman Show is a great film, or so hope because will be released in 1998.

The game has arcade sections but are easy. There are optional actions that only make entertainning you. You can finish the game in a couple of hours but are pleasant, althought it has two puzles that, wow, a bit difficult. Quite funny and with a good leit motiv, to save animals!

Best wishes time travellers, ;)
