What's with the Ubisoft stance on old games and bashing them, ridicularizing them? I didn't get that humor.

Ghost Recon is gone... Gunsmith in GR is really nice, and IIRC up to a total 20 Millions of unique weapon customizations; buttttt what's the point? if you're playing it in craptastic third person and arcade-ish, and you barely see 50% of your weapon and its effects?!

Far Cry 3 looking nice for a change of setting from 2, at first I thought it was another game... thought it was that "I am Alive" game, don't know if it got cancelled or what.

Brothers in Arms is gone, really dislike the direction they're taking. Overstrike is like the same, but it's fine because it doesn't use an established name like BiA.

Rocksmith looks nice, it's way more natural playing the real instrument than just mashing buttons on a plastic guitar.

mushy101: Extremely dissapointed at what Gearbox did to brothers in arms, thank you mainstream audience for ruining what was mature, film rivaling stories of WW2. Hells' Highway was one of the few games that I felt was emotionally involving, fucking fuck.

*Sighs*

PoSSeSSeDCoW: I thought you were overreacting when you said that, then I watched the trailer. Shit. Turned a great historical game series into another broshooter.
It's like they watched inglorious bastards and decided, (in a druken/drugged haze), to crowbar the film into the only WW2 IP they had. Tarintino always, always mocks on screen violence, Gearbox is seeming to revel in it without the satire.

What I cannot fucking believe is that they had an audience that wanted an authentic, (enough), sober, story heavy FPS that distanced itself from the crowd. The games were hard as shit on higher difficulties, and truly offered something different to the run of the mill shooter. That's why the audience that made the games sell and be received well loved the series.

Who does this appeal to? The public is now enjoying modern warfare, gamers are either with TF2, COD or battle field, whilst all three of the markets are tired of WW2 shooters.

The market that likes it's ridiculous shooters will be served by DNF, AND SS3. I cannot wrap my head around why Gearbox would butcher the series, when it was not broken.

Yeah, it's really annoying. I've been playing through the three games again too and had been lamenting the lack of another game in the series. I see my prayers were answered. =\

Because they want those markets too? They probably went, the fuck with these tactical crap, TF2 and Cod is where the action is!

StingingVelvet: 3) Thief 4 announcement - We all know it is coming
They can't do that. They have officially done so over two years ago.

I do think they thought exactly that when they were sober. /facepalm

I certainly don't think they capture the markets at all. WW2 FPS/shooter stigma will not go away for a long time.

That'll be the biggest barrier to it's success. Throwing away an entire audience and great FPS mechanics angers me, is all.

'Dumbed down' seems to be a fitting expression here.
Ubisoft showed some good games... Farcry 3 looked great. AC Revelation looks as good as expected. Ghost Recon looked pretty good. Surprised by the quality there.
I like the look of the new Brothers in Arms.

Way too scripted for my taste. Oh and the use of autoaim was terrible.
There should really be a game in which they allow you to butcher the fuck out of Americans, British, Alliance, Good Guys, and similar factions.

Enough with the Nazi, Zombie, Terrorists, Russians, Koreans, Chinese, South African, South American evil guys already!

RO2 has Nazi focused SP, I think. So look out for that.

3D is fine, since it's optional, I'd take that over terrible games anyday.
