wodmarach: ] actually i'm not theres no actual console on the show floor all their demo's are running off PC's also I never said the controller was vapour just they didn't even show that during the presser compare to the move and kinect both of which were shown running and at ok speed during their announcements. Hell look at the Wii (then revolution) announcement from 2005 where they showed the console and it actually running all we got for the Wii U was.. a prerendered video nothing live.
Here is a link to the features of the console: Features

And here is a link with a better shot of the console itself: Console

And an article about the CPU: Processor

No hard drive yet again. Probably a small 16GB flash drive.

And third party devs are really on board? They said that near Wii launch too and well it didn't really go to well.

Supposedly they're getting Assassin's Creed, Darksiders 2, and Ninja Gaiden (may be wrong about NG).
It will support USB hard drives though. And I see the lack of an internal hard drive as a cost saving measure which will allow Ninty to offer the console at a lower retail price. Those who want or feel they need more storage space can go and buy a USB hard drive to use with it. And unlike M$ you won't have to buy it from Nintendo.

And all the games shown in the 3rd party reel were announced to be coming to the platform. So there is some initial 3rd party support. But really if it gets good support or not will depend on if the 3rd parties are able to use the new features the Wii U brings to the table well early on and if the console attracts the 'hardcore' gamers.
Kind of funny that the next day we discover all that WiiU footage was of other versions of those games, and that half of them aren't even confirmed for the WiiU. Kind of odd, though I guess E3 conferences always do that kind of stuff.

This I'll need a citation for.

Scroll through Kotaku, they've had several stories about it. Alien: Colonial Marines for example is not confirmed for WiiU or a sure thing at all.
avatar
eyeball226: Most likely they're in PC cases because the case design isn't finalised. We only got a video during the press conference, but I've seen a video of someone playing with the Zelda demo and it's definitely being rendered in real-time. Again, the console exists and you're just being weird.
avatar
Kabuto: But what demos are they playing? Are they just playing enhanced Wii games with the new controller? They did that when the Wii came out using an souped up Gamecube.

Afterall, that trailer about how the U will have all these amazng games and tech was all smoke and mirrors. All footage was from PC/360/PS3 versions.

This is running on a Wii U.

This is running on a Wii U.
It's a prototype demo with a layered GUI interface ontop of a CG animation to
simulate the look and feel of the new Wii :> still seems very responsive though,
when you think about how fast the control display shifts with the tv screen.

Have they released any specs on how much the current controller weighs?

My understanding was that the interactive lighting was the proof that it was real time.

Yea, but it is still very much a CG scene, albeit a layered one, in a very 'controlled'
environment.
Would be really cool it this is the quality to expected though! :D I'm very much looking
forward to it.

Especially since Nintendo doesn't usually seem to push their consoles at the start. The MGS and RE games for the 3DS look far more impressive than Nintendo's own 3DS games.

^ Ugh!

I saw much more better / beautiful girls on my way home today.
Happy to see the interview with Casey Hudson. Mass Effect 3 has loot, weapon and armour mods and squad customization.
