Elmofongo: I have no idea why people call our island tropics a paradise when we suffer the worst when it comes to bad weather. We get Hurricanes and we have it worse when it comes to Earthquakes because if a big one like the one that Japan hits us we will suffer big floods aswell. And this is a rather small island.
avatar
Antimateria: It's because they are visiting and seeing best things with money and they go in better weather.

There are many places which have horrible stuff to hear if you actually live there not just take some vacation resort where everything is fake. I haven't been out side of Finland, because I hate water and I have a panic disorder and many more disorders also I don't have so much money. It would be nice to even see more of this so called Finland. But alas, not at this time. =P
I have technically already seen all of Puerto Rico in a way. I live in the West End of the island near the sea and my capital city San Juan is all the way in the east and its like a 2-3 hour trip from I live.

But I am derailing this thread long enough so sorry OmarfromSyria other than Welcome to GOG.

Well yes I've been in different cities in here also but it is a tough ordeal. Also there is that one thing that discourages me.. there's really nothing to see here. also people are horrible fuckfaces mostly. Some piss ass people in Helsinki.. Yeah well I did that, which was kinda fun 'cos I was drunk. =D Once I was made to go there because they hired me from bar.

Experience was to go home, well I got paid, not in full (because i had a bit of hangover, I was hired in a fucking bar you know) so train away. Story didn'tt end there but it is the best end there. nobody got hurt. Feelings perhaps and stuff.

Edit: I've gotten to Tampere few times though. With high hopes. Hopes were bit naught.

Edit2: I hate traveling 1 hour 5 or the plane. sounds pretty hard but I'm getting there conquering fears you know. =)

Edit3: I did derail a bit. =)

OmarTheSyrian: You leave nothing for me to say my friend, I hope that someday when the war ends you'll visit a more peaceful and more beautiful Syria, Switzerland is on my list for most visit country's.
I'm interested in many games actually but don't want to have much right now because my PC is very low and nothing might work.
Thank you very much and I hope to see you in Syria someday.
avatar
awalterj: Yes, let's hope for peace as soon as possible!

About the games, many games here run without problems even on old and slow computers. I have a dualcore 2,2 GHz laptop with 4 GB RAM and no 3D card (just integrated Intel HD graphics) but that's good enough for hundreds of GOG games as long as they aren't modern 3D games.

Could you tell us your computer specs? I'm sure there's quite a few games that you can play even on your slow computer.
Sorry for being late the Electricity was surprisingly cut off *it's a daily routine*
I hope that.
I used to play many good games like Mount and Blade, Rise of Nations, Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends, The Lord Of The Rings: Battle For Middle Earth2...... when I had Windows Xp but now because my VGA is not compatible with Windows 7 I can't play so many games that I used to.
Of course:
Intel Celeron CPU 2.80 GHz
1 GB RAM, I had more but they were cooked with their slots.
GeForce 7600 GT 265 MB 128-bit (not compatible with Windows 7, I have tried to update it but I couldn't)

Tallima: Welcome to GOG! And also, I think the world watches your homeland more than GOG. Stay safe!
avatar
Elmofongo: The world does not watch my homeland that much.....and I kinda like it.
I'd really like to go there some day. The wife wants to go to Hawaii next year for her 50th, but maybe PR will be my choice a few years later when I hit that not-so-magical milestone.

Edit: forgive my manners, Omar. Welcome to gOg.

Been to Miami, been to LA. Meh. Rather not return.

Problem is that I have a traveling job, so I've seen many of these places for work - the industrial places - and my memory is tainted. So PR it is! Besides, I have a nephew-in-law from PR and maybe we can get some tips from him and my niece.

ZFR: أنا كمان من ريف الشام. ديرعطية بلتحديد.

Left in 95. I've moved around. I'm in Ireland for about 7 years now. I still visit my family regularly, fortunately it's pretty safe where I live so I can do so.

OmarTheSyrian: We're only two so I don't think they will :|
We need more Arabs.

ZFR: They only had 2 French when they opened the French forum!
الله يحميلك أهلك اذا لسه موجودين لأنو كان منكم شهر في معارك كبيرة بالقلمون

I wish I can go to somewhere but in these conditions (Refugee) I want to go as a visitor or maybe stay there for a few years, It's safe where I live too but the tension is always there.

There is a thread in the Arabic forum Adsl Gate about GOG sale.

Vythonaut: Greetings Omar, have a nice stay! :D
Have a nice day as well my friend :)

Does your nephew live on the west side of Puerto Rico? My father told me that people living in San Juan has a big ego saying they are not even of Puerto Rico. (probably because the Capital is a tiny portion just barely seperated from the mainland only connected via bridge, and the fact its the only major city in the island, Cabo Rojo aint no San Juan thats for sure)

Don't expect us being TOO Latin American when you go to metropolitan areas. You will see tons of familiar US stuff like Walmarts, Burger Kings, McDonalds, etc.

For movies we have a great theater chain called Caribbean Cinemas. And one of the best auditorioums is close to where I live.

My dad boasts that we make really good food, especially sea food.

ZFR: Check your PM. It's an old game that but I have very fond memories of playing it with my cousins back in Syria when it came out.

Their father died in the war last year :(. Whenever I play this series I remember him; he used to watch us play a lot. Good times...
Thank you man I really appreciate it.
I hope that someday you'll be able to play with them again.
Sorry to hear that :( i lost two friends in this war :(
The good times will be back someday.....
